Is there a True Evo 4G successor coming soon?

I think we've gotten all the new cool phones on Sprint we're going to get this year.

I totally agree. I don't think Sprint is getting any more super phones for the rest of the year. They're cooking something up for 2012. While I would love to get the new Nexus its probably going to be too little too late by the time Sprint gets it. I'm looking forward to the Galaxy S lll or the new EVO. Both with LTE. My upgrade is next year. This is going to be interesting.

I'm not interested in updating to a successor until LTE rolls out. WiMax is a dead-end technology that may not even be available in a couple of years. I hardly ever have 4g available, and I'm in Southern California. I still love my EVO, but I'm in no hurry for a successor. I only wish it had more system memory.

I am a "non-power user" and I do not have access to Sprint WiMax (except in Sprint stores). Luv the EVO, except for the limited internal memory. I, hopefully, will await the next generation of phones with LTE and hopefully more internal memory plus a faster chip.

As a former owner of a EVO 4G, and previous owner of the EVO 3D, the Motorola Photon is a kickass phone. Of course it does not have Sense, but never the less, it is a very stable, very fast phone. I love the Photon as much if not more than I did my EVO 4G and I really don't miss Sense at all.

The battery life on the Photon is superior to any Android phone I have ever used.

The radio signal is way more powerful than any previous phone I ever had on Sprint's network. Places where I used to roam, I no longer do.

The external speaker is even better than the EVO 4G, one place where the 3D fails completely.

Dual core, loads of ram and internal memory.

Thats about it, everything else is poop.

Really...
1-ANNOYING REBOOTS...
2-Extremely fast graphics on the 4s... Games and videos are amazing.
3-Apps run faster..
4-From shutdown, the iPhone4s boots up in 30 secs... Evo more like 2 mins...
5-How about battery life? EVO has none. iPhone 4s lasts all day..
6-Camera and camcorder on the EVO are a pile of dawg poop... If you don't have perfect daylight, the pics are horrible... The iPhone 4 with 5mp took better pics than my EVO. Now with 8mp and a new cam on the iPhone 4s.. Fogetaboutit!!!
7-Screen... Give the EVO the size advantage here but that is it. I am already used to the iPhone 4s screen... Retina display has better resolution and it's especially better outdoors in bright sunshine. I could barely see my display outdoors...
8-Annoying re-boots.
9- Lousy memory... I had maybe 25-30 apps and it was always giving me the low memory warning...
10- iOS apps have a more refined finished edge to them.(not an EVO thing, more Android)
11-Only thing iOS does not have is a decent navi app... Or at least I have not found one... The Navigation app on the EVO was amazing.
12- Did I say annoying reboots?

I enjoyed my EVO, but it ain't no iPhone....... Fire away!!!!!!!

Ive never had reboot issues as a matter of fact ive never had any issues other than the update that broke some apps. Ive been rooted and not rooted with realy no problems. Not saying they dont exist I have a newer evo with hardware ver 4. Not sure if that is why I know most have 2 or 3.
2 of my daughters have switched from the Iphones 1 to the evo and the other to the photon and both said they will never go back.

I'm a firm believer in "To each their own"
but keep in mind the Evo 4g was released 18 months ago. That is years in the world of technology.
My biggest beef with the iphone is,
1) you can't remove the battery
2) you have to pay for more internal space when with an Android I go and buy an sd card for alot less.
3) The iphone is about 1/4" smaller than the Evo in both length and width yet the screen is about 3/4" smaller? 4.3" to 3.5" Poor use of real estate in my opinion.
4) I hate itunes. When I last used it I couldn't connect to an external drive on my P.C. My P.C. is 8 years old with a 40gb harddrive. I use a 1TB external for files.

And it should be faster. It's new compared to an 18 month old design.

Just my thoughts. I do wonder why someone would buy an iphone and then hang out at an Android forum though.

I don't know if there is a true successor to the evo 4g coming anytime soon. If there is I hope it's built by htc and called evo 2. I hope it is spec'd out exactly like the samsung galaxy note and maybe come with a quad core processor. in my humble opinion that would make it true successor to the original EVO.

I'm in Eastern Wa and 4G has been getting slower. It was pretty good here to staryt with, but not now.To be honest the only time I really use $G is on updates.
