This discussion popped up in another thread. To be honest a refurb is probably better than a new one, because a refurb has to go through stringent tests where as a new phone doesn't.
Like the guy above said if it doesn't appear like it from the outside, it's not worth worrying about
well thanks for the replies, but these replies DO NOT answer my QUESTION. i am in no way interested in someone explaining to me why a refurb is a good phone. this question is quite simple. IS THERE A WAY TO EASILY TELL IF YOUR MOTO DROID IS A REFURB?
Depends where you get it from. At the Verizon store, the refurb will come in a white box, and usually has a clear film on the screen with wording stating it is a refurb.

just call into customer care and ask if your ESN number has ever been previously activated. They keep a record for warantee purposes. If you BOUGHT a refurb, you have a 3 month warranty. If you bought what you though to be a new phone, and actually got a refurb, then you have NO warranty.
ok thanks. where do i find the esn #. im not seein one. the reason im wonderin is cause im gettin several issues with my 2nd droid i didnt have with the first one. check my other posts. 3g issues r drivin me insane. this one seems to lag out alot and having all kinds of little issues.
