Downloading movies from the internet for the Eris

I was just browsing some websites such as alfamovie.com and zml.com. I would like to download some movies for my phone, but want to make sure that I am downloading from a reputable site. Can anyone recommend a good site for this? Also, I see some of them offer to download in ipod or DivX (not sure what DivX even is) formats. Should I choose one of these formats or just choose DVD format and convert it? Is there specific settings I should choose for the Eris? I really am new to this, so dumb it down for me ok? :p Thanks!

When I was on Crackberry (yes, I know, buying a storm was a bad idea) I found this link and love to share it with people. I have never had a bad download from this link. Scroll through the hundreds of movies, download and enjoy. They are already formatted to work on most mobile devices.

My first movies post... - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

It would be better to just use torrents and search for movies in MP4 format. That site is good, but it limits you to just those movies. Chances are, the guy originally got them from torrents and re-upped using Megaupload since torrents may not be on everyone's phone.

OK, I'll admit it, I have no idea what torrents are

Torrents refer to BitTorrent which is more or less a P2P (peer to peer) file sharing setup. You can share large files while downloading them from multiple users. Others are also downloading from you at the same time. There are multiple sites set up to find torrents.

Some people love it and some don't, others call it piracy.

EDIT: Not judging in anyway when I say that. Just stating a fact.

If you don't know don't bother. It's a complicated task to convert many videos. Which program, what settings, which codec, is the codec installed, etc.

Just stick with Crackberry or other sites to get pre-converted video. Also, don't do torrents. They are traceable and you don't want that. Be smart when you get videos from the NET.

I downloaded about 4 movies from Crackberry yesterday and put them on my phone. It worked great! Guess I should stick with that since it worked for me... I also better hurry up and upgrad my microsd to 16gb! Thanks everyone!
