2.1 with Sense Pinch to zoom home

I am really glad to see that 2.1 with Sense is running on a Hero, but I don't know if I get the point of the pinch/zoom on the home screen. The over 5 min start up time was ridiculous too.

i wouldnt worry, that was the initial startup as he went through the setup wizard. its normal for it to take that long, there are alot of things that happen on the first boot(apps get optimized(odexed), etc).

I don't remember mine taking that long, even on first boot. I'll take your word for it though. No idea why the guy showed the whole boot anyway.

i know...right! im glad i've got fast wifi where i am so i could skip every 20-30 seconds to see when it finally booted. I think i would have edited the first 5 min out lol

My Eris didn't take long at all on its first boot. Maybe he was doing an upgrade or installing the new ROM on it for the first few minutes.

The VZW employee took mine to the back room and set it up for me. No idea how long that really took because I was browsing Jawbone headsets! (Prime FTW)

Also, this video gives me GREAT hope after being so crushed about the news of Google Buzz not working on 1.5.

i think my expectations are set to high for sense on 2.1. If pinch and zoom on the homescreen is most noteworthy part (considering he made a 10 min. video showcasing only that) then i am going to be one unhappy 'droider' <----haha.. no other words came to mind

don't forget about that palm style handwriting field that we briefly saw. looked like it was a new way to browse contacts. can't say that seems like it would be better than what we have now.

do we know if we are gunna get live wallpapers in the 2.1 update? i probably would not use it all the time but it would be a great show-off feature. ... someone asked to see my live wallpapers because they thought my phone was a N1. i died a little inside when i had to correct him lmao

I actually like the way it brings up the sense screens. its better than having to swipe over 6 times to get to the other side. I am not lazy just saying it looks more efficient.

I agree, and its something different Sense has over stock 2.1 where they have Palm's "Cards" at the bottom. Me likey.
