Help How to download a file from laptop to Droid X2?

I'm very new to the Droid, or any phone smarter than a Blackberry.
I've got a file on my computer that I'd like to send to the X2. I'm connected with USB cable, and I've got the file located in VCast Manager.
Another post says to just drag and drop, but I can't see what to drop into.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Bigguyoak

Thank you for the help! I kept reading that my Droid was supposed to show up as one of the nodes in VCast Media Manager, but it wasn't there. The step that I was missing was selecting USB Mass Storage Mode. I didn't even know that the icon at the top of the phone opened to a menu!!
My download was done in seconds!:D

I don't have much that I'd like to move from laptop to phone right now, but for future reference what would you point me to? I'm not in love with anything Verizon and I am certain that my phone can do much more than I can. I'm not remotely computer savvy or comfortable, mostly email with MS Outlook and MS calendar for appointments.

There are oodles of ways to move files between Android and your PC. When not using a USB cable, I mostly use Dropbox. But at home I just hook up the USB, select Mass Storage, and the option pops up on the computer to open 2 different folders. The first folder is the internal sdcard, the second is the external sdcard. Just move stuff the same way you would with any other windows folders.
And I know there are at least a few apps that will keep you synced with your Outlook, but I'm not sure about MS Calender.

I know your post is a bit old, but I just joined and read it. I am looking for a way to sync outlook with my X2. Can you share some of these apps, please?

I've never used Outlook, so I couldn't tell you some of the better apps. Just search for Outlook in the market. Bunches of them pop up. Maybe ask around Android Applications. I did a search in there and found this post.

I would suggest using Dropbox. With that you can drop any file right into a folder on your computer, than it will be shared on your phone or any other device you connect it to. Really useful!

This is a nice app. Thanks. I downloaded it and tried it out and I can see the potential here for file sharing, but what I am really looking for is a way to share (sync) e-mails between my phone and my computer so I don't have to bcc myself each time I send an e-mail. Sometimes I can't remember if I sent it from my laptop or from my phone and I need a way to sync both together so that I have all incoming and outgoing e-mails on both devices so that I can find them easier.
Thanks again.
