Geniatech Enjoy TV

i would recommend HDMI over composite cables. composite cable are well capable of transmitting 720p, and over long distances. but for some reason on my plasma tv, when i use composite, i can notice horizontal thin lines on black background, something like noise. i tried different cables but the same result. over hdmi the black is dark clear black with no noise. the only disadvantage of hdmi is not all audio is streamed, but that is not problem for me as i use L/R stereo cable for my speakers anyway.

i noticed that if i have both composite and hdmi connected to device, it streams over composite first, and dont stream anything over hdmi. so if u want to use hdmi, unplug the composite cables not to create confussion

OMG .. i can't update fw beta 2.3.4 (http://www.kgdteam.com/mygica/update20111010_Kgdtea_beta1.zip) to another fw .. even factory reset , it doesn't change anything !!!!! How can i return to an earlier stable firmware , please help me ..
Hi sku||, first of all, you must rename your earlier firmware to update.zip, then copy it into an sdcard,
insert the sdcard inside your device, press and mantain pressed the button under your device and, at the same time, press the power button, few seconds and automatically the procedure of upgrade (or downgrade) will start... try and let me know

You mixed two very different thing. Composite, and Component. You use for hd tv component cables (3 channel). I want Composit, 1 cable.

Please, plug your usb tuner to windows, and write down here the found hardware data.

It is not worthy of using composite output. For the resolution of composite output is only 720X576i, for video playback , this resolution is ok. but for web surfrying, it is too low. You will be disappointed if you get one composite output.

I have a laptop to internet. I have an iphone to internet, when i not in home. This android box is good for very lot of thing, but not continuisly internet.

Yocee, u r right, i confused 2 things, i meant component, the 3 cable type. the 1 cable type, yellow, is the worst quality u can get. i use linux, but i have an old laptop and will write harware info for you

Success with upgrading to 2.3. just a little hint: in step 2, i could not move to option 3 using the remote control it came with, so before loading the reset mode i connected a usb keyboard, then u could select option 3 and carry on. another note is that once u start, ur box wont work untill u finish the whole process, as it will keep asking for update.

i didnt install anything except the firmware update as mention here.
also noticed that after playing a few videos on youtube, the sound disappears (via hdmi) after 2-3 seconds after video start. on/off and sound is back on youtube videos, but dont know for how long....
if the sound issue is not gonna be fixed, i ll have to downgrade, as i use L/R audio outputs as some audio do not go via hdmi (this is to do with hdmi cable itself)

HELP! I followed all the steps to update SPI20110907 then SPI20111028 and finally renamed firmware update20111028 to "update.img" and reset to update, but it kept saying ' can't mount sdcard/update.img'. No matter how many times I tried reset and even changed different sdcard, it wouldn't update. Now I cant update new firmware or downgrade back to old one. The box just kept reboot to recovery mode when reset. Can somebody pls shed some light. Thks

That firmware update is very confusing, there are two different SPI updates listed the 2011-10-28 and the 2011-09-07, the Android 2.3 PDF instructions initially references the 09-07 update which is a separate download but then link to the 10-28 update in the PDF.

The 10-28 update appears to contain SPI updates bundled together as one update for various players unlike the 09-07 update.

I tried the 10-28 update and it would not update my ATV2000 running the kdgteam beta firmware.

Incidentally the kdgteam beta firmware online firmware update appears to show an update available but I've not tried installing it yet. I think I will wait for the kgdteam firmware updates they at least seem to work for updating the player properly.

Instructions for users who have the firmware KGD, and want to upgrade to Android2.3_10-28.

1) Install firmware 2.2 Froyo for example this:
http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/Androidtvbox/update20110909.zip

2) If you do not have the boot and recovery 20110907SPI, you have to unzip it and select your model ATV (atv300 = 256 avt1000= 512 atv1000 (v.2.2) = 512F
Important renamed to update.zip and copy to SD card.
http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/Androidtvbox/20110907SPI.zip

3) Follow instructions in the PDF.

Salu2.

with kgd online updates, it always updates to the same version, which is a bug. with 2.3 version, there is online update option, but u need to have sd inserted, i think it saves the previous firmware to it, or could download new firmware to it. i am not sure why it requires sd for update.

any one had installed 2.3 and checked the L/R audio outputs??

p.s. is there a way to check the version of the device? at the back i have a sticker : m3v2240000512. does it mean its version 2.2 with 512 mb???

Okay figured it out here is ATV2000 update process (thanks to kdgteam), also may be different on other models but reset is on left hand bottom of ATV2000 not at the back so unplug power, hold reset, then plug in power to get to recovery menu.

1) Install 2.2 Froyo OS

2) Install the 512F.zip within the 20110907SPI.zip file this will bring you to UBOOT 1.3.5 and Recovery 1.2.9

3) Rename the update_spi20111028.zip as update.zip then install and this will bring you to UBOOT 1.3.6 and Recovery 1.3.0 this will also force the player into recovery mode at every boot but this is part of the process temporarily.

4) Download update20111028.zip and rename as update.img the file extension change is important otherwise it wont see the update. In the recovery menu select apply update then select the update.img file on your SDcard and it will install and go back to normal boot mode.

Android 2.3 is running on it after that.

Some info about the 2.3 build
* No market support built in.
* Apk of Android 2.3 market here does not work.
* Youtube 2.2.16 apk works fine.
* Seems a bit snappier overall.
* Still no idea how Samba support is meant to work, PDF mentions it but video player still does not see any Samba shares.
* Better control panel settings some of the minor issues from 2.2 have been addressed.
* Flash is still at 10.2 but Geniatech Android 2.3 PDF specifically mentions to not mess with their version otherwise you will break Flash altogether.

Yes, you boot is 512F.

The new firmware, not work Component Video, only HDMI.

Salu2.

512F, this is what i used, so i am not that stupid after all) so if composite not working, then stereo not working too?? will it work in future?

another thing i noticed: when i power the device on, it starts and the android logo is ugly, and my tv report "ec/hdmi1" then it powers off itself (the leds are on, but tv report that nothing is connected), then powers on again with nice and clear logo and tv report "hdmi1, 720p/60hz". it looks like it is auto adjusting... what does "ec/hdmi" means?
