London City App

Since the update of the Orange ROM this Tube map app has disappeared. Can anyone else see it still or has the app been removed from the market ?

I emailed the developer but had no response.

TIA

A new ROM should not have an effect on what you can / can't see in the market. However I know that paid for apps have be known to be missing in some countries.. but not UK...

Was the tube map a proper tube map? Or was it designed by the developer himself?

I say this because TFL has a licensing fee if you want to use there original tube maps and it could be that the DEV could not afford to pay TFL those HUGE fees they were asking for so he has dropped the app (by request of TFL)

But if it was a paid app then it's a different story (he might have been able to use the official map as he could afford to pay TFL)... OR infact your ROM has omitted paid apps (can you verify you can see paid apps in the marketplace?)

It has been reported elsewhere that the latest Orange ROM from HTC has meant people can no longer see some apps on the market - it is said to be due to the ROM not yet being approved by Google - suggest you search or trawl the forum for more info.

there are several tube maps still available - the one I have from Visual IT is still there in both free and paid for form. I can't find one called "London City" though.

I tried searching for Tube as the website suggests & Underground but can't find it. Also the only Visual IT app that appears is Berlin Metro, London City has gone sadly. No City Guide London either. There is a tube map but it doesn't seem quite as good as Ldn City

The Visual IT version is on the market as London Underground and provides a tube map plus access to live travel information. It is on the Market (I am on Orange UK), but I am not using the latest Orange ROM, so you may, as others have noted, wait for a while for Orange to get the ROM approved. This was also a problem when the Hero first appeared on Orange.

There also appears to be a paid Visual IT app called London Tube. I cannot see the benefits over London Underground

Edit to add: Confusingly, on the phone the app is called London City.
