Appears there has been a falling out between the Sholes ROM team and Alldroid...if you're looking for Sholes ROMS you'll evidently have to get them directly from the Sholes site going forward, they won't be at Alldroid.

I say good riddance. All I ever saw over there was the sholes guys whining about how they never got credit for anything (even though ever ROM that sourced bits from them did just that), they make releases which are donate-only for the first 24 hours, and then they turn around and make this whole big speech accusing other ROM makers of not sharing.

There is no doubt, they have some talented developers over there, but the drama is not needed in a community that is, quite frankly, already very small. (developers.)

Yeah, the drama level seems quite high...usually have to get several 13 year olds together to get to that level.

The guys over at sholes have stated that they are still actively involved with the rest of the development community, so I'm not worried.

I was once a member of a head-in-the-clouds audio/video forum. The mods there thought they were Gods instead of Mods. I know what it's like. Our group-the minority(Old-School CRT projector Buffs) just about ALL migrated to our own site because we were basically told we weren't important to the rest of the group anyhow. AllDroid seems to be that type of site, and one I will not join. I'd be telling the mods there where they can go and what they can do with themselves

By the way, the "move" only strengthened our community...

From what I read, there are enough other Android-based Forums out there for Sholes to join, so, again, this doesn't phase me one bit. Just the end of another BS chapter..I hope. Hopefully that chapter doesn't migrate to this site via this very thread......

i got banned from alldroid for 24 hours, apparently for posting something in the wrong forum. when i emailed the admins for clarification of what i had done to get banned, i got no response...i emailed them again, still no response...

would have been nice to know what i supposedly did so I don't do it again...

Alldroid admin imbonez9 is a bad dude....he is in this for the money and he wants everything on his forum to be ONLY on his forum. He claims he has the best Android site and that it is a one stop source for everything. He talks crap about other forums and then does the same thing or worse. He is extremely immature and I wouldn't be surprised if he was 13 years old (no offense to any 13 year olds reading this). Taz is also leaving so say goodbye to any new OC kernels. Pete is the only big thing he has left now.

I guess it's time for the "Voice of Reason" to weigh in.

From a distance, I have observed the workings and administration of alldroid.org. I have also had direct contact with Pete, Tas, and the Sholes team. I am not at all impressed with alldroid.com. That is why I don't post there very much. As long as I know where else to go to get what I need, alldroid.com could go away forever and I wouldn't care. I have the utmost respect for the Sholes team. Pete and Tas are good guys too ... I appreciate their work. and yes, I've bought them a beer or two.

Man oh man...yeah those dudes at alldroid are effin dbags. Seriously, I would personally love to punch that MOD in the face (and I hit hard). I love phandroid for a forum the most over any others (droidforums or androidcentral forums) however the phandroid website needs a bit of work.

The perfect android website would be if phandroid teamed up with androidcentral Sorry if I am speaking blasphemy this was just a thought

Yeah, I would LOVE to see a development subforum. The problem is, although the execution was WAY over the top, alldroid had a point. Their development section was being flooded with non-development crap. As was stated over there, though... it shouldn't be THAT big of a deal. It is up to the mods to move threads, and if the mods don't want to do that, then they shouldn't be mods. On that point, I concur.

Taz is doing some great work, and he will find a great home somewhere else... only time will tell where it will be, though.

While pete does awesome work, too... I have never used any of his ROMs for more than a day. I've been using 2.1 for way too long now, and I just can't handle going back to 2.0.1.

Does Sholes not that advanced yet and is there a reputable rom floating that can give me a stable 2.1 with those backgrounds?

Hadn't heard about Taz...his stuff is still there today. I assume/hope he is just relocating to a new forum, and not dropping out entirely.

All of this happened last night I think and they had downloads down the day before. So give it a day or two and I'm sure they'll update it.
