Google Buzz & Maps

It seems that neither Google Buzz nor the updated Google Maps applications are yet available for HTC Magic users running 1.5 with the update.

So far two people (including myself) have confirmed. While Rogers Apple users are able to get to Google Buzz via Google Buzz for mobile.

How about those who did not apply the update for HTC Magic / Dream? Are you able to download Google Maps 4.x or use Google Buzz via mobile browser?

v4? yes...

Ok, so I'm running the original Rogers stock ROM, NO update. When I go into the market and click on My Downloads, I find Google Maps. When I click on Google Maps, it loads the entry for it in the marketplace, and in the description it mentions buzz. It also indicates GM is at ver 3.1.2.

When I run GM I don't see anything about Buzz or how to run/use it, but when I press on More > About, it shows that i ave ver 3.1.2.

So apparently I have the most recent version, but I don't have buzz?

damn... you guys complain a lot.

First you complain about not have 1.6, rogers gives in and says you will get 2.1 mid year, and also sense UI before that... but now you are complaining beyond 2.1... give it up.

Dude, don't get the point lost. We complain because we are late on "beyond 1.5." And BTW lately the complaints have been fueled by the 911 issue. I do understand Rogers' side, but I also understand the regular guy's side, and so should you. BTW I'm not a major complainer, but one thing I know is that the update almost got my friend's phone bricked.

The thing I don't understand about people like Porky is that they complain about us complaining, in the threads where we are complaining.

They're not going to change our minds!

And if you don't want/like to read our complaints... don't! No one is forcing you to read these threads or our posts.

Insulting us or complaining _about_ us isn't going to stop us from being upset or complaining.

Maybe I should complain about how sick and tired I am about listening to you complain about me complaining?! Sadly, the irony would likely be lost on you.

yeah, you want to review the privacy side before jumping too deep. Just understand how it works and what your options are instead of yelling about how evil it is. Of course every company on the planet will try to get as much info as they can and want to use it to their advantage, that's why it is there, same for every free and pay service in use.

I've already found someone nearby that was using it to spam about their coffee shop and the 'free wifi'. I buzzed back asking if the wifi actually worked or still as flaky as when I tried it. He buzzed back that I'm right, it isn't working very well. So that was a good use of Buzz for me, the info is now out there and I'll bet they fix their stupid WiFI. I did it all within google maps and it took only a few seconds. nice.

However I still don't understand the popularity of social sites. I'm already in contact with the people I need to be without some goofy time wasting service. Buzz bridges the gap and just might be more useful for me. Time will tell.

Oh, you 1.5 users can't use the new maps app yet so usefulness on the phone is limited. Pretty interesting to see it in action on 1.6 :)
