Ya , pretty much my plan is use my upgrade to buy an iphone 4s (we all know their value lol) sell it for around 600 new.

Take that and just buy an unsubsidized SGN.

Question being i guess, where would that be from. HOpefully not overseas but maybe google dev account or bestbuy or something?

This is my first android so not sure how it usually works.

If it's verizon exclusive in the US, you won't find any GSM versions unless you look overseas, unfortunately.
You'll have to import it. I'm guessing there's UK-based online retailers you could check out, but I don't know of any specific ones.

Good morning, everyone! I feel a geektastic day is coming. (If for no other reason that I get to leave work early today!) :D

That mystery spec tweak last week? 1850 mAh battery. Don't ask me how I know, but I do. :D

OP Updated with new battery spec here.

Excellent!

Has the 1850 battery been confirmed or is this all rumor?

Given that the Love Tunnel said this before, and now a different source has said the same thing, that's enough confirmation for me. (I'm betting it wasn't the Love Tunnel who leaked this latest bit to Steven; otherwise he would have labeled it "From the Source".)

Eh...wasn't thrilled but I didn't get put in the doghouse either, lol.

You know, from what I saw, the Rhyme actually got pretty favorable reviews for a mid-range smartphone. If your wife is adamant on getting it, you might consider spending $200 on the phone she wants rather than $300 on something she won't appreciate, amiright?

$200 is quite a bit for a phone like that though... But it's meant to be an accessory, not a phone

Welcome to Android! :)

No guarantees on this, but I usually see the best early prices for an unsubsidized phone on Amazon, with better prices hitting maybe a month after release. Mileage varies so consider well any other feedback you get on this. ;)

Was wondering if anyone here knows the answer to a question I posed a few pages back.

When a phone uses contact charging, does that preclude using a case in the dock? Or would it have to be caseless anyway because the fit is so exact? (Excuse the question, but I'm coming from a DInc and HTC backed out of making a dock for that phone (Grrrr), so I don't know much about manufacturers' docks, let alone contact charging.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Good morning G'nexers and happy Friday!

Really excited to see the 1,850 mAh battery spec come out - that's a lot of battery life for this device. I would totally expect it to make it through a day with moderate usage, which is absolutely killer. 4G speeds all day err day.

I have a feeling we MIGHT see something more today, but if not I will still stay on yesterday's news high. I just can't wait to get my hands on this thing.

Good thing - it's getting a bit chilly to be in the doghouse now.

Exactly my thoughts. Same reason I keep hoping to see a good price on one for my mother so she can get rid of POS'y (piece of .....)

Good morning. I don't get to leave work early but I'm hoping for a fun weekend so I just have to make it through today.

Well, considering her reasoning behind wanting that one, it's pretty easy to justify to her getting the Rezound. She has an Eris and likes the size of it and loves Sense, hates CM 7 which I run on my OG Droid. So after I told her that the Rezound ran the same interface as her Eris and that it was just a tiny bit wider and taller but no thicker really, she's fine with it. She wanted the Rhyme because it was shaped similar to the Eris and ran Sense...she hated the gimmick charm accessory and said she'd never use the dock.

Saw that, was waiting for somebuddy else to chime in, but here goes - I have yet to see a dock work with the added thickness of an after-market case. Sorry in advance, I agree that sucks. Good news is, I'm known to be wrong. ;)

And - Very North New Jersey? What? Now you cats are taking over Canada?? smh!

(assuming the USA and not the actual Jersey ;))

Yeah I'm in ATL but I'm grandfathered into a ATT unlimited plan which is nice. Plus, ATT is getting LTE here which hopefully be awesome. Supposedly, its "true" LTE which is better, so I'd like to stick around with them. Its just annoying because I'm stuck with an iPhone 3G now.

Yeh, ATL and the surrounding areas far and wide are best covered by Verizon.
Many of our staff are on AT&T and I tell you that I almost ALWAYS have them drop out during a call, and they use the iPhone of varying versions. I read a consumer report where they reported due to the amount of iPhones on the AT&T network that drops are common in highly populated areas. That was more than a year ago though. The drops are still here in ATL.

Right. I am on at&t and planning on getting this phone before Christmas if not in the States (Amazon, Walmart) then from places like Negri in the UK. Hopefully price will be around $600 by that time.

this Forum is way TOO big to keep up (at work anyways).

Can someone give me an update please. I was here for the 17th release date (hopefully!)

but whats this Battery thing? Did it come from a good source? if so that is great!!!!

Steven chimed in at about 1:45AM this morning to let us know of a confirmed 1,850mAh battery which was the "tweaked" spec we were seeing on Verizon devices.

Yeah Moose, the 1850 MAh is pretty solid. Now we just wait for storage verification and FCC...

And with that, GOOD MORNING GNEXERS. Yesterday was a great day. And I see Steven through in a nice nugget on the battery last night, capping it off. Yall were busy too, 6 pages to catch up on. We don't have much left to get, FCC pass, Verizon confirmation of the 17th, and storage size is about all that is left. Any bets on what we get first?

Eenie meanie, chili beanie - the spirits are about to speak!

FCC, via a leak, by end of today.

And no complaints to me if that's wrong, blame the spirits!
