Does anyone get why the GSM GN came out of the FCC like a month ago... when it is not even being released here (immediately)? Yet... the VZW model... nada.

Since the GSM GN was international, and mulitcarrier without exclusive, I guess it didn't make sense to put limits on release of information.

The Verizon version is exclusive though.

I think everyone is overanalyzing the FCC release too much. Iphone releases on announcement day. RAZR did too.

He did some awesome stuff on the DX side, like releasing pre-rooted updates at a time when there was no DX gingerbread exploit.

Then he also stirred up the pot a few times, talking about "the other shoe" dropping, and to follow him on twitter for the latest. Sorry, I don't like that.

Yeah, I haven't been around, really, between the release of the OG Droid and now this whole craziness, so I hadn't heard of him before. I don't like the games and the pot stirring. Just screams attention hog to me.

You have Steven, on the other hand, who is in a position to mickey-mouse around, but doesn't. Seems like the minute he gets something juicy, he spills it.

The Transformer Prime blows away everything else in benchmarks. However, if you look at the first screen cap, it appears the user is running a Galaxy Nexus. I hope we get a review out of them soon!

I still want a decent camera, but just sprung for a Canon T3 dSLR with 18-55mm lens and 70-300mm lens. Replaces my old film (yes, I said film) Minolta Maxx 7Si SLR. So far loving it, even though it's an entry level dSLR.

Yeah, Canada accepts the FCC certification, so most manufacturers send their phones through the FCC even if they aren't being offered in the states.

Yeah at this point it is really a formality. But Verizon has already announced this phone (remember, twitter attack friday afternoon), and it hasn't gone through FCC yet. Just one more loose end to watch for, and occupy our time discussing, since we are starting to run out of stuff.

Seems like a few "in the know" are really more out for attention than really being in the know. BMX (Panda) for example. His poem was almost completely wrong. Not 11/3; no physical keyboard. The only thing that he got right was the VZW semi-exclusive. Makes me think that some of these guys just pull together what has already been leaked, make a few other predictions, and claim to be "in the know". P3 said between Thanksgiving and Christmas for a release. Just seems like a bunch of guessing in the hopes of being seen as a prophet.

I'm obviously not talking about Steven's source or Kellex, who obviously proved themselves to be correct.

Don't shake a stick at the kit so hard. I use an included 28-135 kit lens daily that I though would be junk. But as a PI that is hands down the BEST for the job and a decent walk around do all. To each his own application.

Oh the 28-135 (I assume Image stabilized...the's the only version I know of) is a great walk around lens. No doubt. Used mine for a long time before getting a 28-75 Tamron 2.8 and a 70-200mm 2.8L. Now I usually opt for the lower aperture over the image stabilization.

As someone who makes a living from photography, I have found some kit lenses that were *acceptable* and lots that were junk. But NONE that compare to the "L" series lenses - when it comes to glass, you almost always get EXACTLY what you pay for......

Having said that, as a PI, you aren't takingt/selling photos in the same way a photographer would anyway, and the 28-135 with IS is one of the better kit lenses.

I think the 11/3 is explainable by just the fact that release dates can change pretty quickly. As far as the physical keyboard, he later said he was referring to the Droid 4. His horrible poetry aside, I think BMX is okay for the most part. He does his stupid little games, but I think he's legit.

Kellex has an excellent track record from what I've seen (especially nailing the 14th for ReHound; that's a weird date), and I agree that the Love Tunnel isn't an attention hog. Otherwise, he'd be tweeting it all or posting on here and being a thank-hore. That alone makes me respect him/her more.

At the end of the day, though, I'll be happy to get my SGN and step away from all the crazy rumors and fear-mongering. I actually lead a very active life when I'm not in hype-mode. (I know it doesn't seem like it, but I was barely active before this. I think I had 500 posts total in 2 years up until August or something. )

I agree some folks are overanalyzing it, but to be fair the Verizon Nexus has been announced. Twice actually, the Hong Kong event included the LTE version, although it did focus more on the GSM one, and then Verizon's press release regarding the SGN.

If I were HTC, I wouild be FURIOUS right about now... you have this big launch event in NYC and now, almost 24 hours later, the front of VZW website is Razr, Razr, RAZR.......... I dont even SEE the Rezound there......

I am assuming Moto has compromising photos of VZW they are using as leverage...............

I agree 100% with Kellex, I think he has had the best track record with the GNex of all the people I follow. And I also have really boosted my posting, I was at 250 after a year, and the past month I have posted close to 600 times, mostly on this thread. Its just so exciting that this phone is coming to Verizon, I can't help myself. I will try to stick around, and help as much as I can once the phone comes out, but am pretty busy, Three kids, two hour roundtrip commute, 50-60 hours a week working, coaching my son's soccer team, and halfway into my Master's Degree. whew.

I don't know... I think that the RAZR is a more innovative product. It also was intro'd first. Not that I want either... just sayin'. Maybe HTC's spotlight will come next week after the RAZR release.

When you have to highlight red plastic on the inside of the phone... you are definitely lacking in highlightable features!

True, but if I had to pick one, I would get the Rezound, hands down. A crappy battery is better than a battery you can't even remove!
