Can't you get it moved??

No. Short of calling in sick, I can't. And if I do call in sick, this particular judge will get really pissed. He already doesn't really like me.

Man, first I miss the IRC chat on unveiling night, and now I may not be able to get it on launch day.

Maybe I'll have it shipped to my wife's work. But she literally works in a loony bin, and she is very forgetful of stuff like that. I can just imagine me getting home and saying "Where's my phone! Gimme gimme gimme!!" And her saying "Oh, crap!" while slapping her forehead with her palm.

Edit: Hey, maybe there is a twist to this story after all, and it will get pushed back to Black Friday! Wouldn't that be wonderful!? Then I could be assured of getting one before they sell out!

Lol. Put me in the south for 24 hours and I have an accent. 48 hours and people think I've lived there for a couple years. I imagine a week and I'll fit right in.

I know that feeling. Though born and raised in the Bronx, I lived in Durham, NC for 16 months. Started to get a twang and drawl and moved to Boston before I could start to "reckon". I'm thankful I didn't take away a Boston accent when I moved again. However, after a year at Virginia Tech 20 years ago (damn, ok, that just sounds ancient) and having lived in Va for the past 7 years, the accent creeps in now and then. Ironically, I normally have no accent whatsoever, such that people can't even tell I'm from NYC.

(Great, now I hear myself thinking "Ah reckon we've been waiting for this here Nexus fer a long spell now." Ack!) :D

1. Do the sales rep people need to mess with the MEID/ESN number on the Nexus to renew my 2-yr contract? I want to simply walk into the store, fork over $299, and activate everything by myself...but I'm wondering if they'll insist on "setting things up"

This I would like to know too. Really don't want of their sales persons messing with my new Nexus. :)

Ask this earlier and got no response, got lost in all other stuff probably...

Anyone have any knowledge or opinion in here on whether the length of Verizon's exclusivity on GN will be made public???? In the past has the exclusivity time period been made public, or is it just a guessing game how long the exclusivity will last, even after it is released???

I bet Steven will let out some big info right after I post this and it'll get burried again...LOL

I believe it is a guessing game.

Just checking in, very glad the Rezound has been hands-onned (made-up word so you can't criticize the spelling) so I could go ahead and rule it out. That this is fat (not phat) and nothing impressive about it. Just from the initial impressions, that phone is easy to eliminate, so I am back down to the RAZR and GNex, as I imagine most in here are. I gotta say, the RAZR's lack of removable battery is pushing me a bit toward the GNex.

On another note, I hope Verizon brings these two cuties back when they introduce the GNex:

@ han

I don't know, I always despise getting it in-store while the employee rips off the back, inserts battery upside-down, then tries to force the cover back on, then realizing it's not seated right, then powers on the phone with a 1/3 charged battery and proceeds to play with it saying wow this is a really cool phone have you seen this and this and this all while getting his/her grubby little paws on it???

I'm always worried (ocd) about that initial charge on my battery ya know! Last phone I got (Bionic) I said hand me the phone I'll putt sim and battery in it and activate it later from home. He looked at me like

Might just order the GNex online

I honestly can't think of any phone that Verizon had an "exclusivity" period on that later went out to other carriers.

I am strongly considering just paying full retail for the phone, just because dealing with the whole line switching is kind of a pain (my other option is add a line, I am not eligible for upgrade), and did the math, it costs about the same either way. If I did this, I think I could just ask for the phone in the box and walk out, right?

Should be able to. Although my rep wanted to make sure and install the sim and boot it up to activate it in-store he said he had to. I told no thanks I'd take care of it. Might need to be firm with them

I have 3 upgrades as of today good times

Well given that my "client" in this case is the City of Chicago, I can't really do anything to get out of it.

Man. Maybe I should eat some raw chicken the night before. A quick trip to the emergency room in the middle of the night might be enough documentation to get the day (or at least morning) off.

Ahhhh, the lengths we will imagine ourselves going to.

I was planning on buying the phone at the Verizon store....What will the sales people do to my phone in the back room? Even if I was standing there I wouldnt know what to watch them for. Should I bring a Vitulo kit with me? (If you dont know what a Vitulo kit is....all the better)

Wow - what do you think they're going to be doing to the phone???!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

Don't google that, kids.

It's not so much what they do while you're there. It's what they do before they open, when they run their slimy paws all over the phones, play with them, take pictures, and then put them back in the boxes and pretend they're "brand new".

Should I worry that I didn't have to google that? I'm not in law or law enforcement and I only really watch shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds.

Haha, well I was born in Minnesota, and lived most my life in FL (Which is NY/NJ with humidity.) So no accent here... yet. You should hear my M-I-L though, haha. edit: AND MY KIDS! (I married a southern girl, Peaches and Pecans aren't the only good thing in GA).

I'm a Florida native and have a pretty strong southern accent. That being said , I moved farther south and the people down here make fun of it...
