The darling bride might have to show a little cleavage against the glass doors, while you hide in the parking lot till the door is unlocked.

With my luck the reps will all be female

I'm not anyone's bride but by damn, if cleavage works I'm game. And it might work on SOME women.

OK. I'm now caught up. On my way out for a night of dancing and country music. I'll be back later to see what else has been talked about.

And one last thought - we have the best mods of any forum ever. It would get ugly fast without you all. Kudos to you all, especially our triple team in here!

Still nothing like an iphone launch or anything that most places did not have enough stock for. I mean the 4s has been out weeks and is still backordered.

Yes and no. If I recall the Droid X was on perpetual back order for over a month before you could just walk in and get one. If the Nexus has low release stock and/or if its highly popular it could be hard to get on day 1 and beyond if they don't have a pre order period. Verizon likes to have low first day stock to help the appearance of strong sales. The Xoom, Droid 3 and Bionic launches all had low release day stock with as little as 30 units per store. From what I am hearing some stores may have as little as 10-30 units per store on release day.

After all this torture that is waiting for the Nexus I would be so upset if I can't get one on day one.

Nope. However, you can only "upgrade" at a reseller if you are eligible. If not, then there's not much a reseller can do.

My official upgrade date is Mar 2012, but I'm eligible for an early upgrade from Verizon. But I have to go through Verizon to get that, unless someone knows a way around that.

That was my experience too. I tried to get my Droid X at Best Buy through a early upgrade, it just doesn't show up in their system. Seems like Verizon set it up that way on purpose.

Droid x was on backorder for maybe a week tops. I know my friend's dad waited and he had to wait like a week to get it. The inc was on backorder due to not enough screen components.
