Can anyone report on the battery life of this phone? I have read that battery life depends on whether or not you're in an LTE-covered area, so please include how much time your phone was in/out of that coverage. Thanks in advance!

Got it today around 6:30 p.m. and it was a around 60% charged. I was in an area that is currently not LTE covered, so I guess I can't say if that's a factor. I used it pretty heavily on good HSPA+ coverage while I was out, and very heavily on Wifi once I got it home. All the while, on both HSPA+ and Wifi, I was doing a combination of texting/calling/surfing, syncing weather/Gmail/apps, customizing the heck out of the awesome new Sense 3.0, and had the brightness at about 90%. It lasted until 9:40. That's actually better than what I was expecting with this monster 4.5" screen, especially at close to MAX brightness. I hope that helps. I'll post more results after the first day of general use on a full charge...

People have said the screen is on the dim side, did you find you needed to set the brightness to 90% to make it usable?

I had the brightness set to 25% for the majority of today and was able to see just fine in a particularly sunny house. Outside, of course, was tougher at that brightness level, so I found that about 50% did just fine. So far, I'm completely satisfied with it and find it much brighter than my old HTC Inspire. I'll probably just end up setting the brightness somewhat low and use auto-brightness.

I can report, after using the phone a few days, that I'm getting about 15-16 hours total with moderate usage throughout the day. This is with the screen brightness set around 30%, which is awesome inside and works well enough outside, mobile data connection on earlier in the day, and lots of Wifi usage in the evening. Phone calls, consistent texting, web browsing, checking email, listening to music, downloading apps, checking the weather are things I've been doing everyday. I have to say that I'm impressed with how well it has done, considering this power-guzzler of a screen, which I LOVE by the way. So hopefully that helps. I honestly don't mind charging every evening because the overall awesomeness of this phone makes up for only getting a day of usage out of it..

Thats good. I have to play with the screen brightness. At 100% brightness on a full charge i only got 5 hours. But i was having data issues so the thing was probably searching like crazy for signal. Its hard to not want this thing at 100%. Its so beautiful. Extrended battery please!

Just some observations i took today using my vivid lightly to medium use i guess.Checked email several times, checked facebook several times, sent and received several text,3 short phone calls, checked and updated weather several times,Took 3 pictures and uploaded them to facebook, read a few pages of news on the web,and checked battery status throughout the day.I think that's about it lol.Anyways i took 3 screenshots of the battery level during the whole day today. To say the least im very impressed with the battery of this phone.Im running the new ICS 4.0 Sense 3.6 that was leaked.I have my sync setting to min needs. All vibration is off except for when typing in a message only because i haven't figured out how to disable it yet.Of course my battery has been cycled and is broke in well now.
Im still looking for ways to extend the battery even further.

I get horrible battery life...and love it to death!! Pretty much for the same reason that I loved my 1970 Caddilac Eldorado with the 500 CI marine motor...Gigantic, powerful, and would pass anything but the gas station...the epitome of american excess...
