The app is from the market an it is called HideNseek...developer is Andrew Schwimmer. It is a $1.00 purchase. It shows purchased on My Downloads, but when I try to install, it goes to authorizing credit card>downloading>Download Unsuccesful. It doesn't give me the option to refund, and there is not transaction on my credit card either.

I would try a reboot. Sounds like something glitchy in the Market. Are you able to leave comments/rate the program? You may also want to give Linda File Manager a shot, it will also display hidden files on request.
I don't think you're talking about turning off and on the phone.
What is the procedure again, and what do I lose in a reboot.

It seems that the hidden files app will not download for me. I have already purchased and cannot get it installed. It seems it is hit or miss on cupcake. Anyone else have this problem?

Ok It downloaded but did not install the first time ... so i did a second run of installing ... and it was ok ...

Run the app is a bit quirky in that it pops up a white flash-lite ... found that two presses of the menu-key would get you to the Password prompt ... after which i just touched a couple of files in my /sdcard directoy ... they sorta grey/blue out ... use Menu and exit .... Then I used Terminal with Super-user and looked and the files did not showup when doing a ls command ..
Go back into the app untag them and repeat looking for them with Terminal and they appear .... I have not tried an entire Directory ...

just remember when starting the app you will get a white-flashlite screen double-click menu to get to the password prompt ...

I also have all my Apps running from the SDCard ...

let me know if this helps...

I can't even get the damn thing to install. I have rebooted and everything. Is there any way to clear the download from the My Download page of the market. I would like to give it a shot with a brand new install.

Oh yeah...running from SD card as well.

I think you can uninstall it ...

Then try a Safe Boot ...
1.) Turn phone off ... remove battery .. WAIT for at least two minutes.
2.) Power On Phone while Holding MENU key ... Until ALL actions finish from Powering on phone ...
....... At the bottom left corner of the display in transparent text will be the words "Safe Mode"
3.) Power off phone again ... battery out ... wait two minutes
4.) do a normal power on ...

Then try a re-install of the app

Have not been able to remove from "My Downloads". I checked in my settings>app manager, and I can not identify the app to remove. Since the download failed, I don;t know if it would even show up here...ARGH!!!!

Try going to the search and pull the app again ...
search on hidenseek ... it should show up with status of $0.99 , Installed, Purchased.????

Install page.

Try that ...

Also try an App called AppManager ... you may be able to see it there and uninstall then go back to Market and retry the DownLoad and install again ...

Mine is still in the Uninstall ReFund mode or i would give that a try ...

BTW: It shows as a Protected App so it can cause difficulty by various apps trying to manage it ...

Installed App manager, but could not find Hidden File App. It's not there.

Did you not try the Install of HideNSeek from the Search ... you said it displayed Install page ???

Or try the Barcode scanner on the barcode below to take you directly to the Market for the app.

Well great caution is required ... because this is where the danger of have root can be felt !! deleting the wrong thing can be a real messy business..

If you want to see if the app is even on you machine ,,,,

Download Terminal or if you look in your AppTray you may already have it from Rooting ..

Then let me know ...
