Keyboard Running Much Better Now

I just removed the vibrate when typing setting from the stock keyboard and now the keys are much more responsive. Day and Night. How happy are you guys without it? just wondering.

I'm still running 1.5 and I had it set to not give haptic feedback when typing for the first few weeks I had the phone. I had trouble typing, though, and the accuracy actually goes up for me with that little haptic vibration, having found that out on my Samsung Instinct.

So I turned it on and got happy, ;) not noticing one bit of lag at all; I hit a character and it is there. I do not understand the keyboard lag problems some are reporting using the leaks and the 1.5 original software.

Learn something every day. I didn't even know there was a compact. I'll give it a try, looks like my Pearl.

It is really nice. I type faster on that (with predictive text) than I do on a regular desktop keyboard. The only time it is ever a problem is when I type in passwords, but it is an easy switch back and forth.

Tip: In 2.1, go to Settings > Language & Keyboard > Touch Input > User Dictionary and type in your email address, gmail account name, screen name for forums, commonly used words, etc to make typing much much easier. I can type most of my account names in 3 or 4 key strokes now.

Great tip, thanks. But I was really figuring to get some work done today since the boards are slow. That idea just got shot to sh1t.;)
