Go Steelers!

17th is good news.

The Steelers are going to have their hands full at PBS this weekend. I seem to remember a rookie quarterback back in 2004 that came into the league from a smaller school but seemingly didn't know how to loose. In fact, he won the Super Bowl that year. Andy Dalton has led the Bengals 5 straight wins. While that's not a lot to some teams, it's the first time since 1988 it's happened in Cincinnati. I think the Steelers will be unpleasantly surprised by 4:30 Sunday. ;)

She's not too pissed about the bike since she loves riding on it too. Plus I got a great deal on it (2010 Ducati 848 for $9K), but she kind of draws the line at gadgets.

She says that all they do is distract me from real life, especially when I get something new. So I'm not a big gadget buyer.

Dude, I didn't know my wife and yours went to the same wife school. Sweet!

I let time slip away for me and I did not get to the Verizon store before work. The phone is coming out anyway so people can make their own determinations as to the heat of the phone if it's problematic or not. I can tell you this very hot phone was doing a lot of downloading. I set that in to motion myself. The other one was not. But it was still warm as it was sitting with the screen on. All the other phones at their screens continually out as well but none of them are hot to the touch. Just sayin.

It probably should move off of this topic on to our own. We probably should just let the razor people hash it out.

Anyone tempted to wait till Q1 or Q2 next year?

HTC Won’t Be First To Launch A Quad-Core Smartphone? In The Running With Motorola, Samsung, and LG? – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Personally, I'm not, but I know some of yous really want the latest and greatest hardware :)

You have to pull the trigger at some point. I was fully committed to the Bionic in July. But by the time that it came out in Sept., the Nexus and Rezound were leaked (destroying it in comparison). Hopefully the Nexus releases next week and we at least a few months of it being the sweetest phone out there. We likely won't see better than 720p next year; 32gb will be plenty for next year; so the only real changes will be the # of cores... which will it really make it that much better if the OS doesn't fully take advantage of it?

Point being... huge differences between the Bionic and Nexus in just a few months. Not much of a difference between the Nexus and upcoming phone through next summer.

Yeah that is why I am getting this phone now, if the quad core is the only improvement over this phone for the next year, I can live with that. My thunderbolt runs plenty fast for me, so the dual core will be just gravy. Quad core is not necessary for me at this time.

Wow, between the Transformer Prime (which will be mine to replace my CM7'd Nook Color!), The G Nex, its likely-overpriced spare NFC battery, and the desktop dock, there goes $850. LOL! Plus the $400+ I'll spend on the wife, and then there's other people's gifts... *sings "It's beginning to cost a lot like Christmas! Evvvvvery dime I spennnnnnnd..."*

Or "Chrismahanukwanzakah" for everyone else :)

Forgot to mention... when I was playing with the RAZR last night, it seemed to be three layers, kind of sandwiched together. Hard plastic on the outside layers and more like a rubber layer in the middle (reminded me of a gasket or seal, almost). I bet there is a tool, kind of like the tools that release the security devices from clothes, that will open up the RAZR for battery replacement. Just a hunch.

Nope, not a bit!

My OG Droid is really starting to drive me nuts with lag due to lack of memory. It's running CM6 with a 1GHz P3Droid kernel, but it's still slow switching between programs. And the camera won't focus 9 times out of 10 unless I smack it on the desk first.

The camera is one of the things I'm most eager to try. My kids move around too fast for my Droid's camera and I also want to be able to better capture the crazy moments at my local pub.

I seriously need some help. I'm checking this thread every 15 minutes or so. When I see posts on here that are non-Android, it's like they're coming from another planet. I'm afraid I've slipped into the Nexus-Zone. It's something like the Twilight Zone, except more unpredictable. It's a serious distraction! I'm afraid the only thing that will cure me is an order confirmation from Verizon.
