About to go over the 5GB unlimited data plan, what now?

There is no 5gb limit with Verizon. You are fine AT&T has the 5gb limit.

Unlimited means UNLIMITED - there is no such thing as a 5GB limitation on an unlimited data plan. There may be tethering limitation though depending on your implementation.

I believe the 5GB limit applies to tethering (I vaguely remember seeing this somewhere), not to data used by the phone itself.

So, if you haven't been using that data while tethered, then I saw continue streaming youtube.

If you've used all that data tethered, then I recommend you remortgage your house to pay the overage fees

Verizon cant tell if you have been tethering or not. If you use an extreme amount of data though Verizon will start tracking what your doing I heard...

dial #DATA (#3282), it will send you text messages of all your usage (text, data, etc.)

I checked mine and I was going to post that I am a lightweight. I have used just over 300Mb. Then again, I don't have the goat pron app installed.

Wow, I thought I was bad when I hit 2GB one month. I don't think I could hit 5GB if I tried. My net connection at home is a different story.... average 200 - 300GB / Mo.

The only 5 GB limit is for Verizon Wireless Aircards. The data package on your phone doesn't have a limit. Although, if we all turn out to be heavy hitters like Joe, VzW will probably start imposing a limit!

Shoot! They're charging me $27 for unlimited data. I'm using it! The only reason I use WiFi is to tether my phone to my lapt ...I mean, I never use WiFi.

To monitor the data usage from the phone, I find "netcounter" to do a good job.
