I would definately get the Comcast cable TV App! It's free and you get HBO as well. Sweet HD on the Hero. You might also want to check out the Dollar Menu McDonalds App. Each day there is a dollar menu item not listed on the menu that you have exclusive access to just by showing them your Hero. ;)

I don't seem to be able to find the Comcast Cable TV app in the market...

My Must Haves:

Advance Task Manager (paid)
BetterCut (paid)
CacheMate (paid)
Docs To Go (paid) <---pricey
Twidroid Pro (paid and best twitter app period!)
Easy Note + 2do (free, BEST "note" app on the market)
EStrongs File Explorer (free - comes with themes!!!)
Locale (paid)
Phone My PC (paid)
My Backup Pro (paid)
Pure Calendar (paid)
Pure Calendar Grid (paid)
Set CPU (paid)
Shazam (free and Sooooooooo shouldn't be, lol)
Jewellust (prolly not a must have, but crazy addicting)

Photo Frame Deluxe (paid) Another one that is not needed...but I am a photographer and its a nice matted and framed "picture frame" that does a slide show. You can even set time on how long each picture stays!!!

Those are just some apps on the market that will make life with your smart phone so much easier! Yes, most of them are paid apps, but at like $1.00 - perhaps a little above....it's easy to get a bunch of GOOD apps for like ten or twenty bucks. Then they are yours forever :D

If you use Mobisle Notes, be aware that the program (as awesome as it is) may not be reliable enough to trust with critical notes. The last update just force closes over and over and over. Yes, my notes were backed up, but the beauty of Mobisle Notes is its ability to manage projects with checklists. Hopefully the dev will release another update that fixes the FC problems for good.

Titanium Backup - Awesome for backing up your apps, especially if you want to change ROMs. SetCPU - along with rooting and Gumbo Kernel, this thing is awesome. Quick Boot - Quickly boot into recovery, reboot, or bootloader. Dolphin Browser - Awesome browser. Handcent SMS - Much better than the stock app. Beautiful Widgets - It is paid, but they are all great. Weatherbug Elite - The best weather app for Android, in my opinion. Layar - Pretty nifty app. Just try it out. Shazam - identifies a song by listening to it. Very useful if you listen to the radio. Barcode Scanner - Scan barcodes to open things in the Market or web browser. Places Directory - Google's directory. Find pretty much anything. Google Sky Map - Awesome star map even if you don't stargaze. Just check it out. Solitaire - everyone loves solitaire. MetaMorph - if you want some awesome custom themes. Gmail Unread Count - display the number of unread Gmail messages on a widget. ShapeWriter - the most awesome keyboard. Just try it and wonder how you ever used the stock keyboard. Quick Settings - Quickly turn off/on GPS, wifi, Bluetooth, backlight, and mobile data.

To know more about your phone, I suggest 3 apps I've found to be quite useful:

1.PhoneAlyzr - Awesome app. Gives tons of statistics about the people you call and text. Who texts you the most, calls most, number of calls, etc.

2. Spare Parts - Pretty well known app, use it to see if something is eating your battery life or which apps are keeping your awake time up.

3. Speed Test - Shows how well your 3G coverage is doing at your exact spot.

I've downloaded ShapeWriter and installed it. But I don't notice any changes. Did I miss something? Shouldn't the screen flip on an application when I turn the phone horizontally?

Thanks!

Did you follow the instructions to properly enable ShapeWriter? Go to Settings -> Text and Locale -> ShapeWriter -> Click "Enable." Then go to a text message or any other input field and hold down your finger on it until a menu pops up and select "Input Method" then ShapeWriter. Voila!
