Oh I also have a question about verizon plans. I switched to Verizon when the droid x came out because I get a pretty good discount through my employer. When I signed up I got $50 off the phone and for an additional $30 I got a 1 year contract. I never saw either of those things listed as benefits of my employee discount so has anyone ever heard of Verizon doing that for new customers? I am really hoping it wasnt a new customer thing so I can get the $30 1 year contract thing again, that would be sweet.

We all had the 1 year contract option before but Verizon discontinued all 1 year contracts so that option is gone. All contracts are now 2 years. The $50 discount may still be there for you since that sounds like a discount you are getting because of you employer.

True...BUT P3Droid (aka Windsock) did receive two engineering phones from somewhere and one was a 16gb while the other was 32gb. At least, that is what I gathered from the pic that he posted and both phones, apparently are Verizon. So is it possible that they are toying with this option? Maybe. I'd go with the one phone for all speculation though. It does make more sense.

P3 has friends who work for Verizon in testing. He doesn't give full details (rightfully slow to protect his friends) as to the build status. Some could be early samples, while others may be production builds. One thing is certain though, they aren't his and he'll be standing line like the rest of us (or ordering online).

Verizon did away with one year contracts after the DX was released. Maybe your employer has some special deal to get it, but I doubt that it's an option for anyone anymore. The $50 off may have been a promotion. "Loyalty Discounts" are now offered for customers who have been...loyal.

I'm not buying it. I think that was just simply that Samsung produced earlier test phones with 16GB. I think the 32GB phone he has is actually a final build which Samsung would have produced on the now final production line.

I know that everyone is saying Nov 17th or 21st and I want it as bad as anyone else but doesn't it make more sense for Verizon to release it on Black Friday, 14 days after the RAZR to reduce the likelihood of RAZR returns in favor of the GNEX? Two phones of this stature released during the return window seems odd to me and a Galaxy Nexus Black Friday release would draw a bigger crowd into their stores. I would definitely be there :D

Good morning all.. I've been considering selling my ipad 2 for a while now and thought I was going to get a Xoom 2 but I've really sarting researching the Asus Transformer Prime.. I think I getting this instead. Anyone have the Asus Transfomer with keyboard? Great... now I'm tracking two items waiting for release dates, the Nexus and Transformer 2.. just what I need. Anyone else waiting for the Asus as well?

I know a lot of you are hopeful for a release this week, as am I. Although, I have a coworker who has family working in the higher ups of Verizon and he just told me that he spoke to them last night and that they said it was delayed. Take it fwiw, he's an iphone guy so he didn't ask any other questions but I guess we'll see. =/

Oh well, it's not going to slow me down from enjoying 2 years with the SGN.

But then they have to delay it another day for the people who bought the Razr a day after launch. Oh what about people who waited 2 days to buy the Razr... I doubt return windows have anything to do with releases.

In his latest review (which isn't as exhaustive as I thought it was, but it has nice pictures) he states that his device has a 1750 mAh battery, but that he's heard it might be bumped up to 1850 mAh.

So it seems he doesn't have the retail version.

His TeamBlackHat counterpart, CellZealout tweeted that he was having a lot of problems out of the engineering build that he received, but it was just updated and things were better. I don't know what these guys have gotten hold of but i hope that they are old builds!

Good morning, fellow Nexlings. I am feeling quite chipper today. I believe that although today will be leak-free, the Chicago Bears will simply thrash and humiliate the Lions at Soldier Field.

Sorry Han but I don't think that is going to happen. You remember what happened in the Monday night game right? :)

Or he got what was supposed to be the final retail version but Verizon decided last minute to up the battery and now Samsung (and maybe Verizon if they are already in the warehouse) are frantically swapping out batteries in the boxes. For all we know this could be the cause of the delays in releasing.

Yes indeed. Not as frantic about it as the GNex, but definitely watching and waiting for both.

I sure do, Ringhale. But I also remember your poor little kitty cats getting beaten by the Falcons (which the Bears creamed) and the 49ers, while the Bears have won 3 straight and are in an upswing on both defense and offense.

I think the kitties' game today will be destined for the litter box. :D

I believe that I will have a wonderful dinner with select friends and family this evening at Riva on Navy Pier.

And I believe that my younger dog's diarrhea will have come to a satisfying conclusion after just having fed her a bowl of bran cereal.

Yes, I smell pleasantness in the air today.

Good day to all!

-1 Han, you are flat out wrong on this one. Lions win baby! Da Bears are gonna lose. But good luck on the rest of your festivities for the day and try not to step in anything. ;)

+1 Fresh off the bye week, Mr. Suh and the rest of the D-line all angry. It's the year of the roar.

 We are all 1 day closer to the Nexus :D

I don't think they could just swap them in and out like that. The 1850 mAh battery might make for a thicker device, or it may require pushing the internals around a bit to make it fit within the same case.

I think it's too late in the game for any swapping at this point.

I'm just hoping we don't damage your little glass QB again, like we did last year. :p

I think a 100 mAh bump wouldn't require any other changes. Actually this is probably why they only bumped it 100. Our Incredibles came with 1300mAh batteries but I've got a 1500 in it with the original back. I think if they went to something like say 2100 then they'd have to change the backs (and we've seen this back on the Samsung site) but even then they could still easily swap a battery and back plate in the boxes.

I do believe a 100mAh bump is completely doable without changing anything else though.

The Windsock posted an 80% done review of the SGN.

Should be interesting.

Looks exhaustive.

Galaxy Nexus Review

I hope the battery isn't an issue.

I live in a city that has 4g, but if what p3 says about the battery is true on the final build (which I believe it will be), it seems almost unusable.

With my usage (I'm a heavy user), on LTE I will go from 100% at 6AM to 20% by 11AM, on 3G I went from 100% at 6AM to 70% at 11AM and 20% at 4PM.

I guess it depends what he means by "heavy user", but an 80% drop in 5 hours on 4g sounds awful. Especially when on 3G, he is only experiencing a 30% drop in 5 hours.

My friend has a tbolt and says the battery life he gets on 4G is terrible. :(
