That is actually not true at all. Someone a few pages back did the research and found that most phones have 10 days or less. Many anticipated phones are only announced 1-2 days prior to release.

Actually it is true. I said highly anticipated/flagship phones and that post is pretty poor since it has mainly unanticipated or undesirable phones like the charge and thunderbolt.

HTC Incredible: 2 weeks
Motorola Droid X: 2 weeks
Motorola Droid Razr: 2 weeks

Just curious, because someone I know won't stop telling me how much he hates them, but who on here HATES Verizon? I personally don't because of their coverage, speeds, customer support ect., but I am just curious to see how many people dislike them.

I dislike the way they handle a lot of things - such as releases and giving information. BUT they do have a couple really good CSR's that do know what they're doing (you just have to be lucky enough to get one of them) and their coverage is the best in my experience. I have one area by me that AT&T has better and it's literally 1 grocery store that none of the VZW stores can hold a signal but AT&T can. So as far as HATING them - no. I ABHOR that they are keeping us in the dark on this phone and I do HATE getting a different answer on questions each time I have called in the past but that's about it. That's just me though.

They've always been good to me, and they have excellent coverage. I have no complaints. When I got married almost 10 years ago, I went way over in minutes for the month, and had an almost $300 in extra charges. I called VZW explained what happened and they wrote off the whole thing and thanked me for being an excellent customer. I might pay a little more for their service, but it's worth it to me.

Great questions! I'd like to get my hands on ICS ASAP. While I know that it will come to the Rezound, then I've got some useless and/or redundant capacitive keys on the bottom of my screen (not that big of a deal, probably). I'm REALLY looking forward to a phone without any bloatware on it. The Nexus battery should be better, especially with the ICS enhancements, which is important to me. Superficially, I'm excited for a more versatile LED notifier. I'm also really looking forward to NFC and using that.

This is my first HTC device and I'm impressed with the widget selection, the ease of setting up email accounts, on 4G, the phone absolutely blazes. I have yet (only been a couple of days) had any kind of freeze, lag, or glitch switching between apps, pulling up sites, downloading apps/movies. I would have to agree with BMX that this is a top-notch phone... and I have yet to even sample the Beats part! Been too busy downloading all my old apps, playing with Sense and camera (which in my tests has been much better than the Razr, for sure). FWIW.

Thanks! That's what I enjoy about Sense. The widgets, the seamless switching between apps. It just works great. Later this afternoon I'm going for a hands on.

A Nexus release date would really make it easier to decide if I want to take it home with me for the option of swapping later:D

$60 for a desktop dock.

I've never used one before, and I probably won't start.

Ironically, were there no dock option, I'd actually skip the phone (and pretty much any phone now) entirely, believe it or not. Ever since my OG Droid, I very much rely on my dock keeping my phone in clock mode and not having to worry about unplugging it from a charging cable. :)

I love network coverage and 4G speeds. I hate the highway robbery and botched release after botched release. I hate their love affair with Motorola, who keeps producing phones with crap screens and crap cameras. I hate their secrecy. I hate their inability to discern what their customers want. I hate their stupid little ninja way of releasing phones without much fanfare. I hate their idiotic "super spy" commercials that tell you nothing about the phone. I hate the way they advertise apps (like Madden 12, etc.) that when you try it even on high-end phones, it doesn't work. I hate their bloatware. I hate their lack of compatibility with world networks. I hate the way they release a phone knowing it's garbage (Bionic) when they know perfectly well a superior phone was coming out 8 weeks later (RAZR) and would piss all their Bionic'd customers off. I hate their silence in the face of growing anxiety over the release of the Nexus.

So yeah, I love them a tiny bit, and I hate them a lot.

A lot.

Nope, the RAZR is still $299. Verizon won't give a discount after only one week. It's $229 on Amazon, but it started out as $250 so that was really only a $20 drop. Anyone who's looking to buy it should check out Amazon, though, they do sell phones for cheaper than Verizon.

I showed it for $189.99 on upgrade through Amazon this morning.

Yeah I agree...Paying a little extra for excellent coverage and fastest speeds is worth it for me.

I can see where my friend is coming from constantly telling me how much he hates Big Red, but they still have one of the best lineups of smartphones even without the Nexus. The Nexus is a bonus for Verizon. Yeah they missed out on the GS2 and the other Nexus device, but remember Verizon started this whole Android craze with the OG. I have a working phone so the wait is annoying yes, but it isn't earth shattering.

Well on the off-hand chance that P3 isn't full of crap, I'm trying to come up with a contingency plan. I'm really not keen on getting the Rezound, but I'd pick it over the RAZR. I'm thinking about using Swappa to get an incremental upgrade over the OG Droid for $150-200, and then getting the SGN later.

Bah, I don't like either choice. I'm just going to go back to hoping P3 is being fed false information.

The Thunderbolt wasn't highly anticipated / flagship phone?

Wasn't it the first LTE phone on VZW?

Exactly. I thought P3 redeemed himself with all the info about the LTE Gnex, but seriously, he's just back to stirring the pot. I can see no reason for Verizon to delay the Gnex until the end of the year, barring insanity. He's predicted a Gnex release for every week between October 1st and December 31st, I have no reason to put stock in his supposed "word on the street"

17th or bust, guys. 17th or bust. Or 21st, that would be fine too.
Exactly, There will be ups and downs here every hour here on this topic.

Ha! I've had a longer relationship with Verizon than my marriage lasted. Come to think of it, Verizon is probaby my longest relationship.
A few laughs go a long way..:D

But you have choices, right? I mean I don't know you personally obviously, but if you hate the a lot, and love them such a small amount, why not just go to a different carrier where maybe there will be more likes than dislikes?

I just don't see where all of those little things outweigh the major things like coverage, speeds, and customer support (from my experiences).

EDIT: Time for class, so all replies to me shall be on hold for 2 hours. Sorry!

Well, I had my first dream last night about this phone...I can't believe I had a dream about a phone, I need to stop obsessing. Dreamed about it coming out Thursday the 17th, announcement was today.

So, with that in mind, I decided to call Verizon this morning to inquire about preordering the Nexus. The person I spoke with was nice and tried to find out information for me. Then I was transferred to a sales rep, who was very eager to speak Nexus with me, he too is excited for the phone. He eluded to the fact he had information but without an official announcement from Verizon he is only allowed to discuss what everyone already knows about the phone (specs). He then asked for my name and number and said that he will place me in his calendar and call me when he is able to tell me more information.

Everyday we get a step closer.

Overall Verizon has been exceptional. Only one complaint w/customer service when I had issues with the DroidX. Other CS experiences have been satisfactory. Service, 4G obviously has been great.

If the rumor is true then at what point do we give up on the Nexus and get something else, or wait another month or two and get something then?...

Well on the off-hand chance that P3 isn't full of crap, I'm trying to come up with a contingency plan....

IF the rumor is true, and it sounds like a load of BS simply because it's coming from the Windsock's mouth (if BMX or Kellex had said it, it would be a different story), I would probably go with the um, HTC device, if I like it. I'll be going by to check it out after work today. Reports indicate that battery life is good, and it's got an HD screen which, by all accounts, is beautiful.

If we get no word on release date by Black Friday (I feel sick typing that; Black Friday, once so far off in the future, is now about a week and a half away), I may jump off with HTC at Best Buy and hope that the Nexus comes out within 30 days.

I'm sick of my OG Droid.
