Seriously, if the antenna hadn't broken off, I may have never seen or heard of the SGN. I have had neither need nor desire to be e-leashed. When ole 'yeller' (i.e. you have to yell to be heard) bit the dust I went looking for the replacement and this is where I landed...

I hope we hear something from our favorite 'turtle assed morons' today (thanks Han!) but if we don't please remember to play nice in our sandbox and not have a tantrum and start kicking sand at the other nexi-kiddies.

Actually, just wanted to share my trip too VZW last night. Popped in too play with the Razr and Rezound. I must say, the Rezound just didn't have the wow factor for me, it is a great phone and people who get it should be happy, it just looked too much like my Eris (though an Eris on steroids)

Then the salesman tells me that he has been getting a lot of Razr's returned due to various defects. Now the Razr is a phone that has the wow factor for me but his statement scares me a little.

So, it looks more and more like the Nexus is the only phone for me. Not sure if I am happy about that, I'd rather have to make a tough decision rather than decide by default.

i had a dream about the nexus last night, where the phone was the size of a boombox and I questioned whether or not to get a Razr instead. It's sad when you start dreaming about this stuff.

Good morning all. Here are some updates from my morning crusades of the internet and all things SGN.

1. Nothing from Samsung on the FCC (phones at least).

2. Tweets this morning from BMX read:

Wondering how many people remember me telling you about the new google music updates launching same time as nexus? #pandanation knows first

Now we all know Google Music is launching this week so hopefully he means the Verizon version. We all know there are LOTS of dates going around and all coming from "reputable sources" but something about BMX seems legit. I don't doubt Kellex at all, but I don't know what to believe anymore.

3. Also the article from Phandroid came from this Reddit post: Just played with a Galaxy Nexus! My experience... : Android

4. Not 100% SGN related, but I probably am going to be buying NFC tags to put throughout places. For example one in my apartment will turn WiFi on, screen brightness down, etc. Just something cool instead of using location based rules.

I don't really know what it means, but the first two lines on this page say that the current build of ICS (the one that dropped tonight) is only for the GSM version. I'm suspicious it means that tonight's release of AOSP has nothing to do with our Verizon release.

This....I don't like.

what I thought was going to be a difficult decision has become very easy... played with the razr and the rezound. Zero interest. I was actually really disappointed in the rezound.... the screen didn't wow me as much as I was expecting (best density or not, it still is not as striking as the retina display... maybe it's that 3.5er)... it could also be sense; getting old... i didn't even really "want" to play with it, it was more like "there it is... nope"

Dude, that is so cool! I have got to mess with NFC. My work badge uses that, I wonder if the GNex can read its chip?

Hey just something that passed through my head and thought I'd pass along: felt a bit guilty this morning as I've been contemplating going to VZW, purchasing a Razr/Rezound for a trial and ultimately fork over the $35 restocking fee (to those stores that enforce it) and switching to the SGN. I realized there a lot of people in this economy struggling and if I've got $35 to spare then might as well give it to a charity or someone I personally know that could use it. Something I plan on doing. As much as I desperately want an SGN to come out and rumors of a delayed release SUCKS!...but...maybe a few days of groceries could help, etc.... Just food for thought to those considering doing a "trial run" of another phone if you're sure to jump to the SGN eventually.

Just my thought. Hope to hear some awesome stuff today though!

Yeah great, not only has this forum made me want a phone I never would have thought about getting earlier this year, and now I'm looking at games in the market that you've all mentioned, but now I find myself contemplating an xbox after Christmas.

With Verizon's updated/holiday exchange (have till 1/9/12), it is tempting to get the Rezound.

I have a question...if i got the Rezound, i would definitely be checking out the beats by Dre. Using the beats earbuds and all...my question is would you really have to return the used earbuds with the phone when i took it back to exchange it for the Nexus? Doesn't that seem kind of weird to resell used earbuds with the phone I take back?

I know that the beats by Dre is software enabled by HTC but it would be cool to get a pair of the beats earbuds for free (ok for $35 bucks for the restocking fee).

But hopefully we hear something today...Come on GNex!

Well, with virtually every date on the calendar thrown out as a potential release date, there's no telling WHEN our Beloved Nexi will be launched. Odd to me that, only NOW, at the end, do they find Exchange problems. Very suspicious.

Hang in there folks - our phone WILL come! And it will all have been worth it!

A great thought and it's nice to see - amidst the hysteria of this thread - someone who has kept this in perspective. It's a smartphone. The ultimate in luxury electronics. Nobody here needs this particular phone. Even those few who actually need a smartphone for work or whatever have plenty of available options.

Keep it in perspective, people. I'd like to see the phone too, but if Verizon releases it in a few days, or in a month, or in two months, or the middle of next year... it's no big deal. It's just a phone, and either they release it within a timeline that I'm willing to wait, or they don't. If they don't, then I get something else. Simple.

All uk nexus networks have announced a delay until the 22nd. Preorder is 17th. How can this get so screwed up? Again it makes apple look amazing simply by selling their phones on the announced date.
