The kindle fire at $199 is a great price. Im into app development and need a device to debug my apps on. Will you be able to connect a kindle fire to a pc and install your apps through eclipse for debugging? If this is possible the kindle fire will make a great development device.

The kindle fire is focused more towards an ereader rather than a tablet. It will likely be rooted and custom roms put on based on the AOSP, but initially, it won't be the best base for debuging apps on. With that said, it is still a viable platform for certain apps (as it will have its own limited app store from what I understand), so it shoudln't be entirely disbanded.
