Anyone know how to turn it off when you are done?....shows as still synching until I reboot phone. I figured that when I turned off the app that was using motocast (gallery, music) it should turn off, but it doesn't.

here is my answer from motorola live support-

Babylyn: I have checked my resources and I have verified that there is no option to close it.

Babylyn: We are always gathering input from owners from calls, e-mails, the Web and other sources.

I can't say for sure if this is known or common, but it will certainly be passed on.

We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and want to assure you that Motorola does value your feedback

We open a record for all consumer contacts which are then routed to the proper department for any further research.

Any ideas?...motocast does not show up in running apps...only zumocast. when I force stop zumocast ....motocast still shows up in the notification bar as "synching"

Wouldnt you just have to shut down computer, it will stop sync with phone and close program.

That does work but the nice thing about this feature is that it can be accessed from any wifi connection as long as your home computer is on....can't turn my computer off from 50 miles away (without some kind of pc anywhere program) and rebooting the phone everytime I show someone this cool feature all of a sudden makes it "uncool" if you know what I mean.

you delete the motocast account from the accounts page.

no....sorry, maybe I did not word this correctly....I don't want to get rid of it...I really think this is a great app and I will use it frequently. All I want to do is kill the process from staying active or awake when I have finished using it....as in when I turn off my music player that was using motocast to listen to files on my computer hard drive, I want motocast to stop as well...currently it shows as an active proccess in the notification bar but does not show up anywhere as a 'killable' app...even though it should turn off by itself. I didn't play around with any market 'task killer' apps yet and I don't think it should be required as it is a motorola product.

Maybe they never got into integrating it into android properly and this aspect was overlooked. I guess I will just keep playing....if anyone else has a chance to play with this and figuresit out I would like to hear from you.

That is just what I needed to hear....thanks

I am surprised that there is not more info on the actual function of motocast..even the rep on the motocast live answer had no idea but to be fair she was probably just reading off a screen full of prompt...none of these call center type thing have anyone with any true working knowledge of their products it seems

I know what you mean. When I first saw it on my phone I kind of shrugged it off as not being useful and figured apps like that were a dime a dozen. I thought it was just a knockoff of doubletwist or airsync.

I ended up playing with it today out of boredom and set everything up... organized all my video folders with over 3TB of TV shows, movies, pictures, etc, and I have to say that it works wonderfully. I can stream video anywhere away from the computer on 4G and it even streams video smoothly (at a small quality loss) on 3G. It even buffers near instantly.

It took a while for everything to get indexed but now that it is it's definitely one of my favorite features of the phone.

I was uninstalling old versions of Java and had agreed that I then wanted to update Java with the newest version when a notice showed up saying that MotoCast.exe needs to be turned off as it was on in another area or program
(don't recall that detail) so that Java can be installed. It appears that whenever within range of Wi-Fi, it is automatically on so what am I to doIt seems no one else has this issue but MotoCast and Java are about as common as PC's so either people don't follow directions-the very first section indicates that old versions of Java need to be uninstalled. Since I have 64bit but some browsers are 32bit, I need to install both but want to do it correctly as well as effectively so...HELP!
Thanks in advance, Sandra

What about going to My Gallery>MotoCast>Settings>MotoCast settings>MotoCast auto upload settings>uncheck MotoCast auto upload?
