***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I actually went into Verizon today and I have to agree with what many people have stated before...

The RAZR just feels awkward to hold in your (my) hand. It is too thin with too sharp of edges and too wide to not have some curve or a lip in the back to rest your palm on.

I found it uncomfortable to hold and I felt like the HTC device was much more comfortable and actually I thought the screen on the HTC device was astonishingly good. I am really hoping the GNex is equal or even better than that because I will be blown away.

I believe we need to begin some kind of intervention program to prevent members from visiting anymore VZW stores. The temptation seems to be too much for the faint of heart. We are close, people,...we are close.....if you don't stand for something, you won't stand for anything!! Repent.....turn from your selfish ways....come back.....come back....

C'mon, I remember you from the Dinc pre-release. We were all pretty much wired and there was a lot of VZW store lurking/sketchy 'manager' quotes being taken as gospel/etc going on back then. This thread looks awfully familiar to me ;)

IDK about that.

There are about 50 "Good Morning" posts here every day. About 50 "Good Night" posts every night. There were a couple hundred "Congratulation" posts today - they could(should) have been PM's. Thousands of replies stating the same thing when somebody says, "What happened today?" I'm not saying it's bad, it just happens in threads this big. It turns into a chat instead of the usual forum. But to say the Dinc thread was more off topic would be a disservice. You can jump in here at any time and hit off topic posting too. You want your Pugs and to eat your Pumpple cake too?

Fair enough, but at one point there was like two weeks strait of off topic chatter with no phone discussion in sight. It happens.

Here is an interesting questions for you guys. Should I do 1 of 2 things:

1. Get the Galaxy Nexus as soon as it comes out

2. Get the Galaxy Nexus and give it to my girlfriend who works at Google AND THEN wait until she gets a special edition Galaxy Nexus for her holiday bonus gift for myself.

NOTE: Things that are different on Google employee phones:
Special graphics on the battery cover, receive updates first (as in first pushed OTA stuff), it came straight from the source!

my og droid is all the way back to basic, had to unroot it to get warranty service for the ghost in the screen, which calmed it down some...figured this phone would be out by now, so didn't and probably won't bother rooting again

can't wait to get this phone tomorrow, err..monday....the following monday?

whenever! just give me a concrete date so i can quit spending half my day searching for info on google

Patience is not my strength, but being stubborn is, so I have firmly resolved not to give in to the temptation of any other phone. I "settled" the first time I got married, and that didn't end well. You don't have to hit this girl over the head twice before I get it. ;)

LOL, been there and done that myself. Waiting on the Gnex with you.

Girl Power! :D

Guys, guys, let's calm down. Verizon just wants what's best for us.

It will come when it comes.

Let's not rush the chick in cracking its shell.

It will come when it comes.

:)

Verizon is waiting for you to hit one of these before they launch pre-orders.

Pre-orders are going to be important. It should not be as bad as the Dinc release, but in that case it took forever to get inventory into the store channel. My pre-order arrived a day or two after the release, but it was literally months before you could walk into a WZW store and buy one.

Too many of us are settling for what's OUT... not necessarily what's BEST.

We know Nexus sales will eclipse those of every phone out there when it's released. We know it.

We think. We hope

So I do not understand this fascination with going in and getting an R-phone this late in the game. Can someone please explain this behavior?

If my wife hadn't decided to go with a iP4S last week I would be considering this option. The touch input on my OG Droid died for the third time two weeks ago and if she hadn't switched I would still be on my old casio gzOne flip phone now. Renting the rezound for $35 would seem like a good deal to me.

So yesterday I was walking by this group of people and one said "thats 4g, so its really fast, right?" to which someone replied "yep, but apparently the iphone gets faster 4g speeds, at least on verizon"
Also heard "yea, they say that android thing is more popular, but popular doesn't mean better, which is why I have an iphone"
and only you people understand my frustration

Partial frustration with the long wait, I've been waiting for a Galaxy S2 since September. I was using a 5 year old flip phone that's impossible to text on. I have been through these "release" situations with Verizon 2 other times Samsung Omni 2 and the Incredible and Verizon took their sweet time and left us in the dark then too.

Not so...I walked into a VZW store at 5:30 pm on launch day and walked out with one.
