Programs disappearing on my Behold II

Okay a weird this has been happening on my Behold II... After a power cycle one program disappears from the application drawer. The programs that have disappeared are Handcent, dolphin browser, Facebook, Live Bible, Evernote. Others could have but I have not noticed. When I go into "My downloads" in the market the program is still there but when I try to open it it fails to open. I have to uninstall then re-install the program. I only lose one program at a time though? This was happening last week so I did a factory reset and everything was fine until this morning. I have been running GDE home so the next step will be to remove GDE and see if it continues to happen. There have been a few other things happening as well the day after I reset the phone it would not boot up it just got stuck at the "android" screen I had to go into the recovery console and wipe it again to get it to boot up, also twice yesterday the phone just started vibrating continuously the screen would not turn so I had to remove the battery and restart the phone. I do not have the phone rooted. anyone else having issues like this or any ideas?

When I first got my BH2 I could not connect to the device via USB.
I would attach the cable and would never get a prompt to mount the SD card.
It would power the phone, but would not connect to the SD.
So, that was annoying, but workable.
Then it started deleting apps as you have described.
I got a new handset from TMO and all is now well.
It is possible you have a bad piece of hardware.
Just my two centavos

Trust me they don't. I also won this phone in the giveaway and when I contacted T-Mobile they said that there is nothing in their system that indicates possession of the phone. They told me I would have to contact the people who I received the phone from and that they would honor a replacement

The other option is wait 14 days after reciving the phone whereby your insurance would kick in and you could use it to replace the handset. Of course you'll have to pony up the 50 bucks for a new one though.

Ahh, I see.
Where did you win these phones?
Directly from Samsung?
I would think Samsung would warranty them, regardless of how you got it.
I don't know what to tell you then.
I suspect there are more BH2's that are buggy than we are hearing about.
I knew of two other ppl who had the USB issue (not being able to connect to the device via USB) and now more reports (here) of apps mysteriously vanishing.

I went through all the rigamaroll too . . . resetting, etc.
Nothing seemed to fix it.

Well, I assume you can register them for warranty from Samsung, then Samsung may work with you?

That's what I would try.
It would be nice if you could do a reset with a new version of the image
It seems like resetting rarely fixes anything.
If for some reason your code is whacked out you are reloading the same version on.

Well I contacted Samsung and they said that I would have to send it in to be looked at and the turn around time would be 3 or 4 weeks...So if it gets real bad then I will have to bite the bullet and send it in.
The tech was going to have me reset the phone via the recovery console to see if it would fix it, which I told him that I had. So if you have not done this kind of reset then you might try it.

The handset it was doing it on for me did not have any home replacements.
The only "mod" was the HTC KB.

My new handset has not had this issue. Also, I am not running an alternate home app at this time. Also, I am experiencing NO lag issues whatsoever.
This phone seems to work quite well and I have zero complaints.

I think it's a 1.5 issue. Since I've had the MT3G I haven't noticed any such problems. Up till this day whenever I have to reboot the Behold, it always deletes one or two of my apps/widgets (running GDE).
Well I had the same problem with stock Touchwiz, GDE, Panda Home, Galaxy... I am just surprised other people don't complain or have this problem. T-Mobile will not exchange the phone since I won it on the BH2 contest, so my only option would be sending to Samsung (though I believe it is a software issue, thus more than likely it will come back with the same problem) and wait 3 weeks for nothing. Plus be without a phone for a few weeks! :-X

I called up T-Mobile & described the problem in detail...

if you did get your phone through t-mobile, I'd recommend this as they are replacing the phone for me (charging me for shipping, though. bleah.)

I'm going to have to figure out how to ODIN it back to stock before I send it back. anyone know if there's ODIN for mac?

(the representative said that "it sounds like a software issue" which doesn't make ANY freaking sense, because if it is, then a new phone won't do any good - and it would be happening to everyone, not just me...

hm...OTOH - what does everyone have installed on their phone? maybe there's some interaction between apps that's causing the issue...)
