***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I haven't texted much in the past month really- too much lag. Right now, this phone is basically a media player. And a sore one at that.

Oh, and people are overrated in general mwahahaha. I kid.

You only half kid. Lol.

Agreed. My fiancees family is in town this entire week for TG. They go shopping every black friday... I loathe malls and BF. I have already made it clear I will not be joining the group on BF and will be going snowboarding. Couple that with a storm projected to roll through later this week.

If this launches on BF... it will make for a tough decision for me:p

Not really, snowboard AFTER getting phone. Then when exhausted sit and play with new phone. problem solved.

LOL! Me too!

Took my sister to a Vstore yesterday to add her on to my plan. She was spending $160 per month for herself and my nephew. When he was going through my billing cycle he said I average 31 minutes per month. My sister averages 330 minutes.

On a side note. After adding the two of them and with my company discount our bill is now $155. All I have to do now is add my mom, get the nexus and give my mom my thunderbolt.

Yup, I'm paying $160 a month for 2 phones. One of which isn't even gonna be used till Christmas.

Off topic: Great. Rolling through the DEN area? That'll make for a nice long day for me- de-icing planes going to and from DEN, re-booking passengers and dealing with delays and cancellation.

My next tv will be a Mitsu 82" or 92" dlp. Bigger tv for same price as lcd/plasma. Or I'll just go projector and screen over 100".

On topic

Did you hear about the Nexus? :D

My advice, if you have a basement, or an area where you can control external light, go projector. If you plan on having it in a room with lots of bright lights, or lots of windows where the image can get washed out by sunlight go TV.

good morning everyone. After a full day of golf, pre-thanksgiving parties and a charity poker event (of which I came in 6th out of 60...not bad for playing for the first time in over 3 years) I had a lot of catching up to do on the forum here.

So, after 26 pages/1,315 posts....I gather that fears of the 16GB are diminishing and thats about it. Lets hope for more good news today!!!

Ha same here. My 5 minutes of talk time is checking my voicemail. Ha. I hate talking on the phone as well.

I knew I liked you. Lol. My 3 minutes was my mother asking me to stop at the store. Then yelling at me for answering the phone while driving.

Holy poo - don't worry about the stranger in your front yard , I'll just pull up a chair and watch through a window. :D

Good Sunday GNexers! I punched out for a day and feel a lot better. Was getting into a dark place over a phone. Silly really when I stepped back and thought about it.

I'm sure I missed a ton and won't ask for anyone to catch me up. You snooze, you lose!

I'll get one when they become available, hopefully next week and then determine whether I can live with any limitations the evil ones (Verizon) have imbued into it. I seldom get to use the word "imbued", hope I used it correctly.

I sold my old iPhone 3GS yesterday for $160. It had been sitting in a drawer for over a year, I hope it makes someone happy. That covers half of the GNex.

I hope the OP remains updated so I can pop in from time to time and keep apprised of the current situation. It's 62 degrees (F, for non-Americans) here on the southern shores of Lake Ontario and I can't waste such a late November gift!

Here's to hoping our bad boy (or girl, I don't discriminate) drops tomorrow! If something important happens, I'd appreciate a PM but understand if that doesn't happen. You kids be good!

Yeah we're almost certain it's 32 GB. Nothing to see here, folks ;)

Are you on Verizon? Have you noticed any throttling? I know a little while back they were planning on throttling the Super heavy users. Wondering if you've noticed any of that.

Ive been concerned with exactly that but I haven't noticed any YET. I think last month I hit 12gb and so far so good.

I have certainly been nervous because I have the Hotspot hack so I am using the native Hotspot app straight for a month now to stream Video (at least 2 hours a day, netflix), music (Pandora), and Call of Duty multiplayer on my PS3.

The room internet is horrible.

Well, this might be why there's such a hold up:

Honest review from a critical nerd (me) - xda-developers

If that's the case, they can keep it in the oven a bit longer. I'd rather not have those issues straight out the box.

I look at the nexus line as almost a beta phone. You're on the bleeding edge of software, so it's not going to be perfect. This phone is for those who want/need the latest OS innovations. I wouldn't expect a major OS revision (4.0) to be perfect out of the box.

I did. Back in September/October.

A lot of us did. When leaks started coming out for an 11/14 date for the HTC device, it didn't make sense. The only explanation was that 11/17 was reserved for something else.

And it probably was, too, but got pushed back.

Guys I'm starting to wonder what will happen if Verizon does release this thing before BF. Will the price drop for BF just like everything does? Or will I be better off just buying it the day it comes out because it's not gonna drop just a few days after it comes out? Second one seems more plausible to me but you never know.

I highly doubt it will be below $299 until at least next year. Black Friday isn't as much about discounts as it once was. Now it's more about having 6 of whatever's the hottest item at the time and watching a bunch of middle-aged adults fight over them as if they were 9 year olds.

Damn, a 3GS for $160? Nice :O

At this point I don't care if I'll save $50-100. I just need a new phone and I'll gladly pay $300 for the phone I've fallen in love with.

With all these issues with the phone and possibly no 32 gig version on day one, i may just get the galaxy s 2 at either 50 dollars at radio shack or try for the 96 cent deal at sams club. I guess i will just have to trust ics roms to come out before end of the year.

The highlight is that there were a bunch of posts you could sing to the tune of Hotel California.

Oh yeah, we got put in time out by Rob/Phases for a while so we could cool down. That is all.

I really hope it doesn't launch on Black Friday. I loathe that day, but if it meant that I could get the GNex, I'm push my way through the crowd for it. I really hope an Monday/Tuesday/Wedneseday release.

I'm just trying to get inside Verizon's head and decide whether or not they want people getting together on Thanksgiving with either a phone or solid release info. 2 situations:

  1. Verizon wants to bury the GNex - If it were me and I wanted to increase Razr/ReZound sales, I would hold off until at least Friday. Would be a good day to try to bury the GNex amongst all the Black Friday hype and advertising.
  2. Verizon wants to promote the GNex - I would get something out before Turkey Day to get a lot of word of mouth advertising

This of course assumes the phone is ready for release, and that Google/Samsung aren't controlling the release at all.

Unfortunately, I typically leave for the mountains around 6 am to beat traffic and get a few laps in before all the gapers show up. I will either have to not go or get it in the afternoon when I get back.

Storms gonna be in the mountains;) They're forecasting it to be 64 in Denver on Thrus and 50's on Fri.

Well we did see an advertising map that said VZW was supposed to start advertising the GNex on BF.

Disclaimer: I know the leak was old but still.

Been using 3 GB a week on LTE, no throttling. Still faster than my broadband at home according to speedtest.net :p

I would note those that the original claim of throttling "high end" users was for those operating primarily on 3G, 4G/LTE users would not have been subject the data throttling.

Well damn, that sucks. Sorry. I'd choose phone but I hate snow so it's not that big a deal for me.

What i don't really understand is if verizon paid for exclusivity for the gn, why do they not want to sell or advertise it. Just seems weird to me but i assume they know what they are doing
