Root MetroPCS EVO-ALL INFO HERE+[ROM] Metrogenmod 7.1

Does anyone know where to find the cm7 version that shady metro stores put on to do a full flash? Its cm7 rc2-MetroPcs Edition I had this done to two evos the other day one for me one for my girl. I was having so much trouble to get the ports to show up on my desktop that i said f it. I could get the drivers to install on my labtop but not desktop. and the labtop has no com ports : ( stupid netbook. The only reason i ask is im flashing one more and would rather not pay. They gave me a deal on the two for 80 since i had them rooted already. but it was a good deal cause eveywhere wanted 65 for one or places that didnt do full flash wanted 50.

yes if you read the op, there is a link for roms out of the box ready for metro. in that link there should be a version of cm7 for metro.

Thanks My whole thing is im already flashed to metro i had a metro store just do it for me since it was gonna cost me to get the esn added i just had them do the full flash since i found it cheap. They put cm7 on the phone i am trying to get the drivers to install but everything i have tried wont work to show what com port it is on in order for me to force a prl update. they have it on 02004 and i was able to get 3g on 3023 in certain areas around me. Thats really all i need i just figured if i found info on the version i have i might find out the driver issue caues when i plug the phone in it says the drivers are properly installed. And now that there is cm7 on here ##DIAG wont work to try that route if you or anyone had any ideas please let me know tia

There is a guide in the beginning of the thread I'm pretty sure the zip to flash for mms is there. Also of you know how to use cdma workshop and qpst. There is a tutorial with pictures of what all of your data settings should be at. I wish I could tell u more but I just paid and had mine fully flashed since it was the same price as the corporate stores Houdini flash. There is a metro edition cm7 which is what they put on my phone. I searched and could not find any info on it. Try metrodroid if you like sense roms though.

No 3g kind of defeats the purpose of even having a Android phone it seems to me, Seems like a fairly straight forward deal. But cant look up phone numbers or google anything, no purchasing of apps on the fly, i really dont understand the reasoning behind going Metro. Cant be the cash, you ponied up to get the Evo and the contract. Not trolling, just looking for the benes.

Flashed the latest mik rom last night got everything working this morning web and mms. Then thoughout using today and a reboot or two i lost my data connection. I checked all my settings in qpst everything is right. tied to flash the web mms scripts still nothing.I just reflashed the rom again and cant get a web connection has anyone seen this before? I guess i just had a drop of data for a while. false post.lol and alot of work for nothing i ended up reflashing and reprogramming a few times and nothing then gave up. Well when i picked my phone up about an hour later i had a data connection again. wtf

next time you get something weird like that or a bug or glitch try and wipe dalvik cache and cache first that usually fixes most issues.

Well first off,metro has been pushing out 3g on quite a few markets. South florida included.and not to mention metros phones are crap compared to the evo. So that's a reason enough to get the evo. Even if there's no 3g..I have an 8mpxl camera as opposed to the lg esteem which has only a 5mpxl (this phone is also like only a month old)..flash player and needless to say the evo has the best developement compared to any other phone. And I have working*web,mms, GPS and All for only 50 a month. Im calling rape on sprint.I'm sorry but 80 a month for crappy sprint service that cuts out more than metros,I'm ok on that. Lol I have tested on multiple evos on sprint and my metro evo gets better signal everytime. Half of my friends can even make phone calls in their house. Its sad.

Yea ive come to the conclusion that it was just metro. But on the otherhand i know all the qpst setting for metro by heart now. Im just hoping the reason i had no service was due to them switching on more evdo towers. : )

i added a "how to update your evo's prl" section in the op for you guys to start gettin that 3g speed..i did it last night.i updated to 3025 and i watched my speed go from 60kbps to 1040kbps! Hope you guys enjoy!

Its the same phone. But thus week metro finally got 3g I'm my area. Regular metro phones ota the prl update. But flashed evos don't. I updated mine late night. Went from a Max of 68 kbps to a whopping 1045 Kbps..so in reality, it feels like a new phone. And I loooooove this 3g speed!

the optimus was my first phone and my gf's current phone..i do developement for the optimus m...mostly themeing.optimus m is my toy..but as far as 4g goes,ive had 2g for so long that 3g seems so fast that i dont even care about 4g anymore..my buddy got the LG Esteem and it has sick fast 4g..but ill keep my evo with 3g

so this 3g thing. I cannot figure out why i cannot get it. Im in a 3g area can hold an ascend in one hand on 3g but my evo will not get it. I have follwed jds dfs guide on cdma tool. Followed bloodykillers data provisioning guide all my data is correct cause my web even stays between rom flashes. I just cannot get the 3g to work. The only thing i can think of is if the esn was repaired i noticed somesaid something about that causing problems. But i know the esn was good on the phone but not sure if the metro store i had add the esn would of just done that automatically. Is there a way to figure out if thats what they did? I still talk to the girl i got the phone from on a daily basis and know the esn was good she still has sprint serice but bought a new phone. anyways if anyone has any ideas let me know

To write prl? I've tried every one 3020-3025 which I'm on now. I used qpst though. I've done everything from scripts to forcing hdr. When I force hdr. Evdo will come on but I will lose signal after a minute and reboots don't bring it back have to program back to auto. And advanced settings doesn't change a thing.
