To write prl? I've tried every one 3020-3025 which I'm on now. I used qpst though. I've done everything from scripts to forcing hdr. When I force hdr. Evdo will come on but I will lose signal after a minute and reboots don't bring it back have to program back to auto. And advanced settings doesn't change a thing.

Do u have cdma workshop working on your computer? If so,have your phone in diag mode. ##3424# .then follow my guide. After the last step,reboot the phone.then your evo should have 3g

I just did my buddies evo like an hour ago.no problems at all. Just follow my guide correctly and u shouldbe good.

Did you have to turn hdr only for then to work? Still a no go with cdma workshop. Ive come to the sonclusion that the shady metro store i took my phone to to get the esn added just assumes all phones that are brought to them are stolen or something. I lose service when i try to force hdr and i noticed jd on xda says the meid repaired phones t=do that when in hdr it causes the phones prl to go to 0000
when miines in hdr in the settings about phone prl stays but. everytime ive tried that through qpst. ill get evdo cooverage for like two miutes then lose all service. I think i might have to do a HARD reset. and start over and have the store by me do it houdini flash and then do the data myself. If that store did repair my esn or meid what would be the purpose? to clone my phone? Is that possible on metro?

Cloning is illegal. But I'm not sure why it wont write. Did u put the phone in diag mode before trying to write the prl?

Oh i know. Its a shady store in a shady ass area. The prls write no matter what program i use i have taken my computer to 3g areas and changed frowm 3022 to 3025 and so on. now i got it at my house but it wont switch to evdo . the only time it does is when i force into hdr mode only but when i do that it stays for like a minute then i lose all service and hav to go back into qpst and re program to auto. What band is metro? Thats one thing i noticed that i think might be different i cant remember what my ascend was but my evo is 1800-2000ghz for some reason i think my ascends was like 1650-????. So maybe thats it.. What radio version are you using i want to try to control the variables so i can get to the end of this.

Hey kelso there is a new zip for mms for 3.0 roms you should link in the op. On bloodys thread towards the last page cdiaz33685 has the link I verified it does work. On mik3d with mms right now. But still no 3g I'd link but on the phone.can i update my pri or nv without losing my metroflash. Already updated radio but no help.

This just started 2 days ago. Currently I can ONLY receive and send text messages to other metro pcs phones. I CANNOT send or receive text messages to/from other carriers(at&t, verizon, t-mobile,etc.). I had the phone flashed months ago and everything had been working perfect. I have done everything possible I can think of. I just took the phone back to the person who originally flashed and still is not working. I even called metro pcs twice and had them refresh my system and still not working. Does anyone know what the problem could be? If so, what can I do to fix it. Personally I think its a software issue. The thing that is really weird is my gf has a flashed evo to metro by the same person BUT with older software and her's works perfect. have you tried any of the fixes in post #1? sometimes things just go hay-wire without any explanation and flashing one of the mms fixes might do the trick... also seems post #1 has rom recommendations as well... just browsing this thread for the first time so that's all i can come up with off the top of my head...

not sure on the steel rom if it works with metro or not. have you flashed the mms and web script? it is linked in the op. you might want to try some of the suggested roms in the op and see if they help.

if you mean mikg, then yes mikg is awesome. as for battery life, roms may play a little part in that. but, where you can really adjust how the battery is run is by using a custom kernel. if you are going to flash a kernel make sure to make a nandroid backup and only wipe dalvik cache and cache.

kernels will vary from phone to phone so it is hard to recommend one. i would try the aggressive freedom kernel and give it a few days for the kernel to settle in before moving on to the next one down the list. also you will want to get an app called setcpu to fine tune your kernel.

I have tried everything. Wiped both caches, reflashed rom, reflashed several mms scripts and still no text message to other carriers. I can still only receive and send text to metro pcs phones. Anyone have any other suggestions?

yes and no(well sort of no). yes you can root your phone and get it over to metro. but not necessarily for free. you can pay some people or even i heard metro shops will do it as well or you can buy cdma workshop (i think they are like $99). there are some cracked version you can get for free, but you have to google that. most do no work.

that i'm not sure of. i would first make sure that metro will do that for you, if you bring it in. if they will then i would say go for it. and as far as cdma, that is up to you. it looks like a very long process, but it could be fun to try it.

yet another question that i'm not very familiar with. but i do know that messing around with esn's are not very legal. i'm not really sure how the evo gets fully switched to metro.

that is definitely a good deal. i would go that route. but they will most likely say that you can't flash other roms. but that is not true. so go to metro get your evo flashed to their network then comeback here. read the op to this thread, it has some recommendations as far as roms go. and it has some scripts that you could flash to get data and sms working on the rom you choose.
