Best tablet - doesn't have to be android

Money is no issue, so what would be the best tablet out? I am a professional musician, so I am wanting something that can load windows based software, maybe an external usb sound card.

Is there anything that can run a duel os of say windows and android? I saw an advert for threw asus tablet. It's an i5 with 4gigs of ram, and it runs windows. Is this any good, if there anything better?

Well this is an Android forum, so we're expecting Android based questions. The point here is that if you want Windows, or need Windows, why go for anything Android at all? Also, Android is not designed to run on Windows hardware, nor is Windows designed to run on Android hardware. There are a few Android emulators for Windows, but as far as I know you can't dual boot it.

I am guessing the tablet you saw was this one http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Slate-EP121-1A011M-12-1-Inch-Tablet/dp/B004HKIIF8, it seems to me you would get a better deal with a laptop. I am not sure what you will be using the device for specifically but other than that tablet being cool for being a tablet you can get better specs for less if you go laptop.

I don't think you will be able to get a dual boot window/android you may be able to get a windows/linux on the tablet but I wouldn't expect it to be easy.

Yeah, I don't know if you'll find a tablet that can load an external sound card.

And have you looked into the (*gasp!*) ipad with the iRig or whatever it's called. And they have garageband for all that now (not exactly professional level, but...), and the iRig has (from what I've read) some good sounding amp stacks for guitar.

Sounds like you need a Windows device with USB. Not sure what you're going to find in the way of tablets. Wouldn't a small laptop suit your needs better, or does it have to be a tablet?

That is the tablet I was talking about...

The reason I wanted both android and windows on one tablet was that I have some really brilliant music programs, sound packs and synths that I
use live (android apps), and at the same time I need to run backing tracks, and my usb sound card. ( my guitar plugs into the card and most of my effects are pc software based.

I already have a small laptop, but it's not great to use live. I was wanting a tablet because of the touch screen. Just bring able to tap the screen quickly instead of using a mouse/keyboard is ideal.

The reason I was asking is that I'm about to upgrade my laptop, and was somehow hoping that I would be able to get away with one device instead of two. I really am loving the android synth's, so I will most definitely use both.

I never even though of an emulator. But in retrospect that's exactly what I need. Are they reliable, and are they legal?

What would the best android tablet be then?

One of my students has the iRig. It's ok. In fact, for what it is it's awesome. But it is more in the realm of student gimmick. That was what made me first wonder if I could get something similar for android.
But I hate apple, and would rather use two different devices than sell my soul to the iDevil

While I love Android, I still think the best tablet is the iPad. A lot of that has to do with what tablets are used most for. Games, media, web browsing, etc. the iPad is phenomenal at all of those things. There are a lot of apps for the iPad for music and tv for example that just aren't available on an android tablet yet.

I use my iPad 2 all the time (including most of my posts on here) and I just bought one for my daughter for Christmas also. Keep in mind I work at bestbuy and could get an Android Tablet at a discount.
