Best overall Virgin Mobile phone?

What is the best overall phone for Virgin Mobile regardless of price?
Optimus V users will probably say the Optimus V while Triumph users will probably say Triumph.

Pre-Paid that is.
They're all prepaid.

Also what is flashing?
Flashing refers to flashing a different rom (altered kernel and/or OS) to the internal memory of the phone. Currently this is the only way to get Gingerbread onto the Intercept, Optimus V and Triumph.

Since I've read reviews and/or perused the forums for each of the VM Android phones, I'm going to say the Optimus V. I highly recommend you do the same (research, research, and research all of those phones and then research some more) so that you can come up with your own informed decision on which one is best based on the knowledge you gain from your research.

To add to what MacFett said about flashing.. think of it like installing an upgrade of Windows on your computer.

I've actually had al three of the first Virgin Mobile smartphones, Optimus V (till it got stolen) then the Craptacular Samsung Intercept and then upgraded to the Motorola Triumph.

While the Triumph is the best phone out of the three (I really appreciate the higher storage (almost a gb for apps) and the bigger screen, I feel as if it's not enough of an upgrade from the Optimus V to make up for the price difference.

$300 for the Triumph compared to $150 for is a steep price to pay. I'm happy with it, but compared to how much I could get a Optimus for and have enough money left to almost buy a refurbished Nook Color or Amazon fire is a hard pill to swallow.

You will find a much higher % of customers being satisfied with the OpV overall. The $$$/reward ratio is very high and it is a very solid phone. It is NOT a high end phone, but it is definitely one of, if not THE very best budget phone currently around.

I am not saying the Triumph is a bad phone at all. I may even try one out at some point in the future. For me personally the money to reward ratio isn't high enough at the moment to justify the triumph.

(instead of starting a new thread, thought i'd ask here) i bricked my intercept - being an idiot - so ive got $200 and want to stick with virgin mobile (would like a qwerty keypad, doesnt really matter if decent screen width). what do i buy?

The new LG Optimus Slider is like the Optimus V with a faster CPU, QWERTY slide out keypad, and Android 2.3

Well the motorola is better in every way. Faster, bigger screen, better camera and video. However the optimus V is still a great prepaid phone. You can't go wrong with either of them.

Is the triumph perfect, no of course not. But even $600 phones have their far share of problems/complaints.

No it's not... unless you install a custom rom to fix all of the issues it has. Then it's a better phone. ;)

These kind of posts are getting old the triumph is not worth the 300 dollars, not all phones basically force you to change the OS to get a functional phone,l had an iphone and had a great experience with it no issues,i have a V where not the greatest phone it was more then half the price of the truimph,i am currently waiting for a good deal on the HTC rezound and jumping to Verizon, got a great offer for service.to compare the Triumph to any modern android phone is a joke.

People are entitled to voice their opinion about any phone (including the Triumph), whether you or me or anyone else agrees, as long as they do it in a constructive way.

I just used Virgin mobile for almost a month, just to see what it was like. I had no problems with the service. However I just didn't like the Optimus slider. I just couldn't deal with the small screen. Also coming from a Droid x and the Optimus slider is just way too small.

I'm still within 30 days to return and I may try the Triumph. It has a decent size screen and a better camera.
