So it has just been announced and previewed and officially coming to T-mobile in the uk on March 26th.

I was pretty close to getting a nexus one but wanted to wait and see what options there were on contracts here in the UK (coming on Vodafone at some point). Now this has been announced I'll probably just wait for it.

I like:
- Hardware buttons
- optical trackpad
- hopefully resolved 3g issues from n1
- updated sense UI

Anyone else excited?

I've been out of contract since the beginning of December, waiting for either the N1 or the Desire to come out here in the UK. Sounds to me as if they should be around the same time

My iPhone contract ended at the beginning of Jan, so went onto a sim only contract until I could decide what to get. Was thinking of getting a N1 last week, glad I held off!

Tbh the x10 never seemed that interesting to me. I haven't seen one video with their front end running smoothly, plus it's still gonna ship with android 1.6. no thanks.

True, but I've been looking at X10 since before I heard the rumours of new HTC phones, so I figured it'd come out sooner than anything else. Apparently not, it's old before it's out.

This phone just looks amazing anyway, so I'm happy it's coming out so soon!

Well, i'm after a new phone, and it's going to come down to a toss-up between this and the N1. The Desire will be easier for me to get hold of, as I can 'borrow' someone else's scheduled update to get hold of it for significantly less money. The N1 doesn't even have a Uk release date, but I suspect it'll be out at around the same sort of time as the Desire.

End-of-the-day, the N1 is a good phone too. The only thing that puts me off it is the touch-sensitive buttons if i'm honest. The issue with them being off centre would bother me, but you never know if that'll get sorted out in later versions of the hardware, like the version that is released in the UK.

We shall wait and see with interest....

Not that I have my Desire like Wallpaper (minus the live bubbles), I'm actually not lusting after the Desire so much. Amazing how the colour choice that HTC is using for the Desire is SUCH a powerful marketing tool! :D

PS - I've had a slight taste of HTC on my Nexus (the HTC keyboard) and things got weird - so I won't be loading Sense on my Nexus anytime soon, if ever. Too many potential issues of messing up the "pureness" of the plain vanilla version of Android 2.1. ;)
