Google Buzz w/ Google Apps?

I've never understood the appeal of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. Google Buzz caught my interest only because it appears in things I already use on my Droid - Google Maps and Google Reader (via the browser). In Google Reader I can clearly see who I'm logged in as - the name appears at the bottom of the screen; it's my Google Account. I assume this works via a cookie in the browser.

The only account I have setup on my phone itself is my Google Apps account, and the email address for this account is different than that of my Google Account.

While out sledding with my kids today, I felt the urge to buzz, and attach a picture. I couldn't see how to do that through the browser interface, so I opened Google Maps. It appears that I can post to Buzz in Google Maps, and even attach a picture. The only problem is that I can't see any buzz other than my own via Google Maps, but I can see more buzz via the browser, but none of what I posted.

I think somehow Google Maps is using my Google Apps account for Buzz, but it's not actually working. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here?

Hmm... while poking around through Google Maps again I decided to try "Join Latitude" since I recall that correcting some connectivity issues with Google Maps recently. I decided to click "Don't accept" on the privacy policy. Lo and behold, the buzz I posted has disappeared from Google Maps, but the buzz that does appear matches what appears in the browser interface. Making progress, but I still don't know who I'm connected as in Google Maps. Still looking for help there.

If you zoom out far enough you should see other Buzz in Maps as long as you have that layer enabled.

Once you see more, you can click the little button in the bottom-left of the screen to see it all nice and neat and threaded.

And no, it doesn't seem that the mobile interface allows attachment of pictures. You can do that either through Maps for Mobile or Buzz in your desktop GMail.

I'm having the same issue with Buzz in Google Maps on my N1. In the browser I can post and view all public/private buzzes all fine. But when I try to view buzzes in Maps I see nothing. I can post a buzz, which displays on the map until I restart it, whereupon it's been removed.
I can only assume it's because my default account (the one I set up my phone with) is a Google Apps one. Whereas in the browser I'm signed in with my Gmail account (I've also added this account to to the phone too).

Is there any way to configure Google maps to use my Gmail account instead of my Apps one?

I wish I knew. I found that my success before was brief, in that I can briefly see buzz postings immediately after attempting to join Latitude, but this ability quickly disappears, until I again attempt to join Latitude.

I find it extremely puzzling and infuriating that Google continues to introduce products that don't work with Google Apps, and why they don't allow for automatic use a related Google Account for products that don't work with Google Apps.

If I weren't a free(loading) Google Apps user, I would be even more worked up about this. On the other hand, I would happily use the paid service if it worked with all of their products.

I'm experiencing something very similar. I can see all my buzzes, but can't see anybody else's public buzzes no matter where I am on the map or how far out I zoom. Must be my Google Apps account, as you said.
