bad news first i guess.. i have been riddles with BSODs all day, actually for the past few days.. but worse today than any other.. thoguht it may be the memory i replaced the old stuff with but after 3 hours of memtest86 and no errors its not a memory issue. in the process of moving things around and seeing if it was my configuration (internal of the computer) thatw as the problem, my 2 year old daughter came over and hit the power button and powered on ym computer while int he middle of pulling my gpu, after completely dismantling my computer to look for burn marks on anything, and 2 hours of it not booting at all, i finally have it up and running, unfortionately, as soon as it actually has to think, it BSODs on me. as soon as i try to boot up the vbox to mess with the source, it BSODs, anytime the cpu, memory, chipset is under any stress.. it BSODs. so while im not done with the project and have every intention of completing it, im not going to be able to move further until i get these issues sorted out. i thank you all being patient and offering ur assistance in testing this, but unfortionately, i have no ETA at this time. sorry guys.

OMG!!!! Eh I can wait lol. And damn I know how you feel. I erased everything of windows. it was just all black. Took 6 months of work to get all the files. And reprogram it. But no worries no worries. Look on the bright side. Obama's still president. We all have our lives, hoorah!!

And major ups for you fixing it!!! You know how to do amazing things on this. Yet idk how to take out the battery -___-

Question 1, what are your PC's specs? Requirements list to compile ICS are way above what most ppl have. I think what I read was, dual quad core, min 16GB of RAM and 30GB free space on the HDD.

more details: Heads up: preparing development machines for the future release of ICS in AOSP - Android Building | Google Groups

Question 2) have you built any other ROMs from src b4? Reason I ask is everything changes for ICS as compared to GB etc. I have been told touchscreen drivers will have to be rewrote/edited to work etc. EGL from GB does not work at all currently. And a whole list of other things, which is why I been waiting on the CM team to work their magic. ;)

Question 3.) Plz tell me you are not trying to build on windows??

Other than that GL and good to see you give it a try at least ;)

Lol.. Ok specs are 8GB ram.. Well 7 now.. Dual core.@3.0ghz. Its somewhat.of an older system. However i.have already built the source on a full-eng just to see of it would make it. Have those bugs worked out. You may laugh.but.i'm trying to build this on a vbox. I was originally going to dual boot Ubuntu so that Ubuntu would have full access to the resources available but that is what caused my initial problem a the install didn't have video drivers available for on the disc for my gpu and kept black screening and then rebooting. I have a Asus p5n-d mobo. With a very sensitive bios apparently.. War fine with my dual channel memory but doesn't like whati'm using now.. I thought.. But its not a mem problem anymore.. Rebuilding with a dodger mobo in under morning once i'm back up a have a couple new things to try..

yea you are prolly really taxing what you have esp in a vm. The vm/vbox is limited at best.

I may try building AOSP ICS tonight when I get back from ATL to see how my PC handles it.

Aosp is stock Android. Cyanogen is a modded version worth extra tweaks. At this point I just wanna see how ur runs on this phone to see if it is worth waiting for cyanogen to release theirs. If I could get the damn source to re-sync it'd be nice.. I had to start from scratch beachside in the process of moving stuff around I some corrupted my SHA1 and couldn't re-sync to straighten it out. So now i'm hanging at 98%... Bit the work goes on.. I think once I get finished syncing I should be able to build it. I believe I have all the files I need set up the right way.. Just need the source to finish.
