Sense UI and 2.0(1)???

OK, the rumors have been all over this and other forums. HTC is working on getting 2.0 (and/or 2.1) to work with Sense UI and that is why we are still waiting for the OS upgrade.

So, with that having been said over and over, why is it that the Incredible is being dropped WITH Google 2.1 AND Sense UI??? That tells me the software is ready. So NOW what is it that we are still (im)patiently waiting on???

Anyone with a half-way intelligent answer please let us know?!?!?!?

Anyways, I realized the same thing and I just figured it was the difference in hardware specs that made it difficult, but even then, that's not quite a strong answer. That's why this is such a frustrating issue. It seems to be fueled more by profit than anything and while some people think the Eris will get it right as the Incredible comes out (before that is just stupid to even consider), who's to say that it won't be a while after the Incredible is out? The Droid didn't get 2.1 when the Nexus One came out, and they were both running Home and no special UIs. Profit or different phones need over a month to get proper drivers or something?

So if the Droid has waited this long so far, what's one to think about HTC and their BS?

Yeah, I looked in the 2.1 thread and it is WAYYYY off topic, and not Eris specific anyway.

I had HTC on the phone last Friday. The tech I talked to would only confirm that "we are working on it"... Seems to be the standard answer...

VZW will give you the same answer, or tell you 1.6 should already be out. They're useless. I've just accepted that we won't get our updates in Q1, like promised, and that we all should expect BS delays and see it after March 31st, or whenever Q1 ends. It'll come out after the Incredible does, and that's due out mid-March or later.

I am also getting frustrated with this. I think that if HTC is not more careful about keeping their upgrades equal across the board with their devices more and more people will forsake the sense UI for regular android home so as to get the ever improving os upgrades when they are due. I think that especially as there is less and less differentiation in the sense widgets that were so popular in the beginning and the non sense widgets the devs are putting out, there is certainly going to be less incentive to buy HTC. This lag in upgrading is not acceptable to me even though I love the eris form factor. They better get a lot better at this if they want to keep clients.

Starting these random 2.1 threads are becoming ridiculous
HTC obviously has 2.1 running with Sense (see Mobile World Congress Coverage), but it has to trickle down to carriers and so on...
This takes time and testing...

I am not pissed. I just don't care to associate with a bunch of self-appointed thread/post Nazis. I came here to learn about Android and my phone. It's all about community. There just isn't a sense of community here. There are some really great people on here, but acidbath comes in and acts like, just 'cause he knows more than I, that he superior to me. I don't have to participate. I am smart enough to figure this out on my own. To those that were nice enough to post sometime supportive: Thanks!

Oh, and I just got a Tweet back from HTC. They re-worded their Twitter release saying: BTW-- HTC Eris and Sprint Hero AND Hero users in Europe and Asia...I can now tell you that Eclair with Sense will be offered for you all.

this is the reason, vzw i think takes the longest to ok software cause deployment of said software goes to SO many subscibers.
