Android x86 or android 3.2 on pc

HI Fellows quick question where do i download the lastest android for my pc. Do i download android x86 or android 3.2 gingerbread?

Also which app store is on both these iso images is it the official android market or is it another market if so which one

and can you suggest the best anti-virus and firewall for both these iso prefernce free

are theses programes legitimate or are they loaded with malware and etc in other words can they be trust full to install who makes them can you trust them

with regards to firewall droid asks for root access never heart of how to do root access please help or suggest an alternative firewall please

i heard both good and bad reports abouts lookout av and kaspersky heard is rubbish

and is it possible to use mobile broadband dongle with android iso on pc

Creative Apps heard good things can this be installed on the pc version

or Zoner AntiVirus for Android whats the best av lol

Android doesnt work on PC. And no way would I want my PC to run Android, Windows or MacOS or Linux does more things than Android could.

Why I wont want Android on my PC? Easy answers really:

Corel Draw (vector drawing)
Adobe After Effects
Power Director 9

and for more specific purposes:

Primal3D human anatomy
Human Physiology programs
MRI/CT/X-Ray PACS scans

Nothing on Android can even compare to those, and I use those very much. There's actually a lot more, like GAMES (Skyrim anyone?) which I do and cant be run on Android. I'd rather have a real computer and an Android tablet.

Basically, if you're a consumer user, sure maybe an Android on your PC would be enough, but for real productive usage like I do on my computer, Android doesnt cut it.

Fair enoygh but why dont you just answer the question that i asked instead of why android is not good enough ona pc for you may be your bio chemistry stuff for you maybe others likeme for normal use and games prefer android on a pc i can just already see android taking over other os already

The PC has x86 architecture so basically you have to use the x86 one if you are planning on installing.

The android x86 is ok . More to say it's just bearable OS but it's not fully functional one .There are quite a few hitches .On the plus side its very fast to load .On the minus side it's lets say not mature enough to be a proper PC OS .Remember Android will act as a Mobile OS not as PC OS .
Remember your mobile comes with drivers bundled by manufacturer .
Windows and Linux distro support maximum number of devices and have almost all drivers bundled or available on the net .
Android x86 doesnt have all x86 drivers so chances are some of your devices like bluetooth /wifi/ethernet/sound and so on may not function at all .
Most important it wont use the full extent of what your PC is capable of .
If you liked android ,you will love Ubuntu unity or Linux Mint .It's better to go for proper linux distros .


But it's futile explaining how an OS works in a post .Get VMware Player .Download the ISO and give it a spin in virtual machine. That way you will know exactly what I am talking about .

You can also run android on emulators available in android SDK .
But there is no android market available .And inserting and using android market will be technically illegal .

The topic of x86 Android is more for Computers and IT Lounge rather than Android Lounge




Antivirus are partially useless on android .Just keep a look on the permissions used by an app,stay away from warez and you are safe .AV app are just a hindrance and waste of resources .

Droidwall is a pretty good fire wall and it requires root access .It's decent and it works without a hitch .I would suggest rooting rather than trust any other app .

btw do you know when android will be comming to the pc i know intel are working on bringing android but i doubt they will let us download the iso for use on any pc

Proper Vigilance is more effective than any AV apps. AV apps are pointless .They just run in background and eat resources .They make you feel safe . And 90 p.c of job is done by Android Market itself .
Droid wall is quite effective IMHO . I have'nt seen any other firewall of it's caliber .(I may be wrong )

I agree, it's more of an IT / Computers thing. Thread moved.

And, while I am a fan of the Android OS, I would not want it on a PC as a primary OS. Even if it was fully functioning Android (given drivers), it still lacks the capability of a day-to-day OS. I like my PC games too much.

So, for my purposes, a tablet with Android is good. It allows me to do the web browsing that I want to and my PC handles the big stuff.

Also, if you're looking for Android firewalls, check out LBE Privacy Guard, as well. As a firewall, I don't like it as much as DroidWall. But, it can block other apps from accessing contact lists, sending texts, making phone calls, etc. Really useful.

I tried x86 a while back and it was really slow to do anything. More really because I have no touch screen.

It felt clunky. Also the features and usability were far below par compared to my android phone. It didn't have the Google android market and it wouldn't work without a finger print anyway. Anything I got the apk for, predominantly didn't install.

I had it as a vm for a while but it was so bad I got rid of it. It just made using a laptop slower than with windows or Linux.

It had its.own "gestures" for things like bringing down the notification area. Really awkward

Ive been following the Android x86 group for some time now. I am currently trying to get it working on an old Dell Optiplex 280GX. The computer with 1 gb ram and the 2.8ghz P4 it comes with should be sufficient. biggest thing is i want the ethernet to work.. havent had alot of time lately to work on this project. I have a ELO Touchscreen im going to pair with it as well. Ive seen something about the ELO drivers working for it. My ultimate goal for this machine is not to be a touchscreen pc, more so a learning tool for my 2 year old daughter. as android market has much more and much cheaper learning tools available for toddlers. She has a Leap Pad that she has been using since she was about 14 months old, and shes bored with it, it fustrates her, the learning curve of some of the apps for it she is not quite ready for. but she has the games and the touchscreen aspect of it down. so im basically upscaling it for her with something that will have a never ending supply of basic enjoyment witht he various games available, and toddler apps.

Hi I am also looking to install android on pc to run play store apps.At this time there is no os on it and it is about 8 years old. Maybe also in place of android maybe chrome os. I have tried 7.1 android from github but installer does not see hard drive and gives a error about bad end of hard drive or something.My old computer has a nvidia gt610 video card ,gigabyte mobo , and intel pentium dual core processor. Anyone know how I can get either installed.Thks
