Mine isn't - since yesterday. No mail arrives and a manual sync doesn't help.

Have tried resetting the caches (x2) in Applications and it will eventually re-sync (but maybe only on wireless), however new mail still does not arrive.

Have powered off, etc. as you would expect.

Is anyone else seeing this? I'm based in London using Three...

Any ideas how I can kick it back into life?

TIA,

Simon

I've had some problems the last 24 hours. Mail didn't seem to be coming through and when I tried downloading/updating apps, it wouldn't get past "Starting Download". Reading about the problem, I tried opening Google Talk - it's unable to sign me in.

Tried clearing caches etc. but then it wouldn't let me sign in to my Google account. So I hard reset to set up my details again, mail and contacts are now synced, still having problems with Market and GTalk, but mails seem to be coming through.

Having looked at a few support places, it seems people have had problems like this before, but there seems to be extra occurrences in the last few days.

OK, it doesn't seem to be picking up on new mail automatically. If I go into the mail application and select Refresh from the menu, it will go to the server and pull new mail down, but it doesn't seem to be doing it automatically, either that or the poll frequency is set to something high.

Still can't sign into Google Talk either - I think it's all related...

For what it's worth, I'm on TMobile with a rooted G2 running MCR 3.1.

I think it's something to do with T Mobile's network and Google's authentication and/or the way the connection between your phone and the server is handled.

I switched to 2G only then back to 3G and I was able to download from the market. I checked logging into GTalk as well and that seemed to work. Just sent myself an email however and it's not come through on my phone just yet... Yup, just checked and GTalk has stopped working again.

I'm going to wait it out for a few days (I've done everything else - wiped the phone in multiple ways, reinstalled the ROM I use etc etc.)

They only way I was able to make it work was by installing an app called E-Mail Notifier. It really helps. With you GMail open, go to menu-->more-->settings-->Email Notifications and disable it so you don't have any conflicts. This worked for me and now everytime I get an e-mail, I receive a notification.
