Put your thumbs away. Droid answers on command. Need directions to New York? Say "Navigate to New York" and Droid will get you turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps, with spoken directions, showing real-time traffic and 3-D imagery of the destination.

Now, we all know that it isn't true. Yet.

There was a soft date for the 2.1 OTA. It got missed but the marketing folks already had updated information set to go out. At least that's my guess. In the strictest sense, it's a "lie" - and some folks will no doubt be really upset when the phones they order don't have all the advertised features... but this kind of thing happens all the time.

Since this thread was started a month ago, I'm sure that there have been lots of unhappy folks.
I doubt it... How many people actually research their phones before buying ? If you think "a lot" to do, you're mistaken. The vast majority buy based on price and cool factor. The geek types (those reading and participating here) may read that and know it's a mistake.

Look at it this way, if it's been wrong on VZW's site for this long, how many people have complained about it being inaccurate ? Obviously not very many, if any at all.

Hey... I did tons of research on what phone I wanted before even going into the vzw store. I am NOT a "geek" though, I just like to make an informed decision since I will have this phone 1+ years! :) But I agree that most people probably just go in the store and pick out a phone without any knowledge of the phone prior.
