Simple really, anyone have any experience with their moment and the Sync system that comes with newer model Fords (and their Lincoln and Mercury brethren)? I have an '08 Fusion (great car BTW, and I'm definitely no domestic car fanboy...) and want to make sure I'll be good if I decide to get the Moment. Let me know. Thanks!

Huh, I can see that got a lot of response lol. Let's try this... is there any reason MS Sync wouldn't work with the Moment if it works with other android phones?
That would all depend on the other phone and the OS.

Since I know nothing about the MS Sync you are talking about, I cant give you the answer you are looking for. Im thinking that might be the case for many of the current Moment owners as well.

I'll be willing to bet that it will work just fine.

Sync works with standard blue tooth protocols so I don't see why there should be any problem.

Great.. thanks! That's sort of what I figured... for actual call interaction it's just like any BT headset, the only thing I was concerned about was the ability for it to download the phonebook for the audio-system driven voice dialing. And of course there's always BT audio for pandora in my car, but that's not such a big deal with my 60gb ipod plugged into the console all the time :)

I just got a car with sync. Voice dialing/phonebook works fine. Text messaging doesn't. Bt audio uses the default music player, but last.fm works even with steering wheel track changing if I manually start it. It defaults back to the built in player again after I take and hang up a call though

That's great to hear, thanks KeithKris!

Not surprised about the text thing, very few phones are compatible with that feature. That's really cool that the steering wheel buttons do anything. Honestly i've never tried them with pandora on my current HTC Touch... just never even thought they'd work.

Congrats on the new car too!

Sorry for digging this up, but I searched for sync moment and ford and this is the only thread that popped up.

My new moment won't sync with my F150. The truck synced fine with the Rumor2, but can't find the Moment. Can anyone give me any tips on where in Android I need to activate something?

Sack,
Was wondering if you got it to work with your F150? A guy in work was looking into the Moment but then he went to Best Buy and got the Cell Phone Book and the book claims the Moment is Not Compatable with Ford's Sync System at all.
I was just wondering if it is.

The information by Best Buy is incorrect. The moment works great with Sync as described. My wife has an 08 Focus with Sync and it works great. You have to know how to hook it up properly. You have to make Sync search, make your phone discoverable, etc. Anyone with some technical knowledge should be able to do it. I drove her car today and bluetooth audio works great. Best buy doesn't know $&*t. I saw that in their cell phone buyers guide but it's incorrect. :D

I have an HTC incredible. My experience with sync is as folows: All bluetooth functionality works perfectly. All the phone and bluetooth music functions are as per the user gude. The USB interface which is essential if you want to be able to play selected artists, playlists etc. using voice control does not work very well. I find, if I sync with iTunes via USB, the car will not recognize the phone. If I sync wirelessly using ISyncr wireless, Ford Sync recognizes the phone and I can play selected artists, Genres and Albums but not playlists.
