T-Mobile announces update to Behold 2 on 2/18/10

I'd just like to say...I told ya! I told you bug fix would come right around the airing of the spstv show on the behold, just like it did for the moment! Now about a month later the moment is scheduled for an os update as well. Could thus be exactly what we can expect for the b2? The answer is YES!

tmo's latest tweet says updateS to the behold 2 are coming in the near future. Is that a typo or are they giving us insights to whats coming down the pipeline? (that was a rhetorical question btw) Only time will tell I guess, but from what I have been told, not here but from a "source", the update will be coming and apparently they are on the same type of time frame that the moment was on. i'm not trying to say that its fact, but my source and consequently me, have not been wrong yet.

Tmo News has some purportedly leaked info on the update: Behold 2 Updates Coming Soon | TmoNews - Unofficial T-Mobile Blog - News, Videos, Articles and more

I'm going to guess that it might be accurate based on the fact that a couple of silly-sounding games are included. Now Diner Dash 2 won't be lonesome...

EDIT: to make this post a little more useful--if their info is correct, there are some good fixes, including the constant vibration, SD card umount, bluetooth connection issues, battery indicator inaccuracies, and auto-play on the music player (god I hate that!). Also will include Evernote, which I just got and think is a great app.

Any know how these updates work? I'm used to Blackberry updates where I connect to a PC, and it backs up all data and apps, updates the system, then restores all of your data and apps.

Will I lose all of my apps (I do have some installed outside of the market?
Will I have to set-up all of my email accounts (I use K-9)?
Will I lose all of my home screen layout?

I think its going to be OTA and not lose all your apps plus its only the first of many parts to come.... so it shouldn't erase anything.... I think its going to be only a battery fix tomorrow no wheres waldo app or mini bowling app or booting the samsung logo instead of android yet... but who knows? but it shouldn't erase anything.

You would use TouchWiz > quick list> settings> Scroll down till you see software update. Then thats how you will update the bh2.

I looked up vids of how updates worked on the G1. Basically at some point a notice will pop up saying an update is available. Update now or later. I think the menu option is there if the update is already downloaded and waiting for you.

And it will probably come at the worst time. My last update for my G1 came right when I needed to look up some info. Nothing like "just wait a few more minutes...it's almost done...I hope". :)
