Google maps orientation

That is true for Google Navigation. But if you are using the Google Maps app, north is always up.

Uh...I have Google Maps...but I cannot find an app called Google Navigation.
So...where is it. or how do I get to it?

When I search for Google Navigation, I get the following:

To get the latest release of Google Maps with Navigation, search for 'Google Maps' in Android Market.

This implies google maps is google navigation.

You have to have the 2.1 ROM which I believe you have on the Incredible, and you have to update Maps in the market (I think...if not, doesn't hurt to check).

Once you have those, you should have Navigation in the apps drawer, and when you "Get Directions" in Maps, one of the options in the results screen will be "Navigate."

I've updated two phones. One of them updated fine and showed the Navigation app, but the other required a reboot for that to show up.

hope this helps,

Jimdroid pretty much summed it up. On my Hero when I had Android 1.5, I just had Google Maps. When I upgraded to Android 2.1, I now have both Google Maps and Google Navigation.
