As I'm reading all of these 2.1 Update Threads... I'm seeing people who are excited, Happy, impatient, and some people who are just plain Ungrateful.

Yes, I am as excited as everyone else that 2.1 is nearly here!

I am also grateful that we are getting this update in the first place!

as I just stated in another Thread:

This Phone just came out in November 2009.

It's ALREADY getting a MAJOR software update. It's Received two minor ones already. I'd say that's pretty good.

It KILLS me that there are those on here (very few) that are upset that the "Update is taking so long" or that "HTC/Verizon Sucks" or "Why can't they just release it already!

REALLY? Do you not realize how much work has been put into this phone in 3 (or so) short months by Verizon and HTC combined?

Some of you should see this video. It suits you well!!

Cheers!

I totally agree with willdogs, I have only had this phone for a month and a half and while I am patiently awaiting an update, I have had and heard of TONS of phones that never even get 1 upgrade for the life of the phone! We should expect quite a few updates for this phone in the coming year(s) and that makes me happy to know that they are in fact working on fixes for problems or just creating great new features that we have not even thought of yet.

Everytime I get a lilttle (and I mean a little) bored with this phone, I just go and download some new (maybe just new to me) FREE apps and that usually keeps me happy for a week or so.

The only thing I am unhappy about (not that unhappy) is the battery, but if you compare the battery life of another phone, it has to be a phone that is as capable as this phone, which there are not that many, and I am sure this Eris is pretty close to matching (if not beating) out others batteries. The more I think about it the more I am completely happy with this phone, best phone I have ever had and I had some pretty good phones (for their times atleast).

Not to mention that I have never had a dropped call or lost service or was unable to download a 8mb app in like 30 seconds (wow, thats awesome). So no complaining for me, excellent phone with excellent service and I am sure HTC, Google, and Verizon will surprise us with updates to things that will continue to make us happy.

Time = Money

They are spending a lot of time on this update, therefore it will be a good update. If they put out updates too fast, that would scare me more than not seeing this update for another couple of months.

Go Eris and Go Verizon, this is the first time that I feel you actually gave me a good phone Verizon and I have not purchased any other HTC phones in the past, but this gem was well worth it and I would consider anything they put out in the future.

So what's this 2.1 everyone is talking about?

HTC coming out with an Eris 2.1 or something?

EDIT: I just wish they would update the phone I have or at least talk about it before coming out with an Eris 2.1 I guess HTC must be like BB with the Storm and Storm 2. Just now it's the Eris and Eris 2.1. Man this sucks.

I agree that we should really be enjoying this time of anticipation. It's like we're all ticking toward the top of the first big drop on a roller coaster. Hands up everybody!!!

It will be great when we finally get 2.1, but how long will we have it before 2.2 (or even 3.0) is rumored and it all starts over again.

For the love of Jesus man. Don't get that thread started.
