Help Gmail using HTC Mail App

I really like the HTC Mail App compared to the stock Gmail App (i know I'm probably weird). I was wondering if it would be better to let it set it up as IMAP or to set it up as an exchange account to get my email through the Mail App. In the past when I setup Gmail as an exchange account in HTC Mail if I was to delete an email it would go into a continuous syncing loop and drain the battery. Does this still occur? Also, if I fetch every 5 - 15 minutes if the account is setup as IMAP would this drain the battery quicker.

I also like the HTC Mail better.I do believe i set mine up as IMAP "Whatever the default way was to do it".I have mine updating every hour and it works great.Im sure it is harder on the battery the more often its updated but i have no problem with battery life. You can even set up peak times and off peak times to receive your email notifications through this app.You can also delete all mail by selecting one then hitting menu, select all, delete all.Which i don't think is an option in the Gmail app from the market.
I love it:)

Edit:I have no problem with continuous looping.

The continuous looping only occurred when I would set the accounts up as exchange.

Is there a way to get the embedded pictures in Gmail to show up in the HTC mail app? It seems it's not HTML enabled??

I'd like to know the same thing. The mail app in this version of sense works perfectly using gmail setup as exchange.

Try opening HTC Mail.Hit menu/more/settings/send and receive/mail size limit.Default is set to 5kb (text only)Try setting it to max and see what happens.I will try it soon as I get time here.Let me know if it works:)

How do i tell the difference?
I just set it up on my phone through gmail.I think its imap.I didn't use the exchange option when i set it up.
A lot of my email have images.

If you did it that way then it is setup as imap. I like to have my emails pushed not fetched every 15 minutes or so, that is why I use the exchange option.

I have been testing these mail options and the G-mail app now has a priority inbox which pushes messages without having to fetch them every so often.I have mine set to sync once a day. When i send a message to my inbox it pushes the message within 1 minute or less on wifi.Images also seem to be working as well.Im going to try this out for a while.Figured id let you know this app works good!
