My phone isn't perfect, but I hate to say it has "issues" because any "issue" is very minor.

One major issue is this nice long battery life. Its making me nuts! I'm so use to grabbing my old phone as soon as I get in my car or as soon as I get to work and plugging it so it will be charging. I can't un-train myself and relax because this battery actually will last all day and more.... even if I <gasp> use the phone some.

I also am having to un-train myself to not worry about having to pull up some gps app long before I need it because it takes forever for the phone to lock on the satellites. This phone locks in seconds.

Major issue here, I think. I turned it off last night to charge and this morning went into a non-stop boot up and showed no service. I tried pulling the battery for it to stop. No success. I took it to verizon and they had to reset the phone to get it working. I thought I had my music on the sd card so I ended up wiping that with the reset. which directory is the sd card for future reference?

Mine did that yesterday. I wiped my sd card and then did a factory reset and <knock on wood> so far so good today.

When I was speaking to a Verizon rep tonight about another issue, he said if I have the issue again to return it as no one should have to put up with it.

Sounds like it might be an issue - it will be interesting to see how many phones it affects; however, I'm keeping this phone (or getting it replaced with another Rezound). I don't like the size of the Razr (or blur) and I think the Nexus will be just as big plus I don't like that it doesn't have a removable card.

No issues what so ever. Love this phone. Even today after two gps navigation sessions (one for 20 minutes and one for 40 minutes) the hottest it got was 111F). My D3 would be a heck of a lot more toasty after that and that's assuming it even found my location all. Honestly, its like I find new things that impress me with this phone everyday. Today it was definitely how quickly GPS finds me and how well nav works. Even when nav work on my D3 it was choppy and often had to catch up. This one's smooth as silk.

Is anyone getting the random reboot without temp root?

I think this is a great question to ask and is going to be an important clue to solve the reboot problem.

I have only had mine 3 days and I have not rooted it. I have downloaded a lot of apps, many of them system related to get additional views into the phone and android and how they work. Apps like Traffic Monitor, Battery Monitor, Elixir, Watchdog, etc.

So far no rebooting.

On the topic of overheating, which may be related to the reboot issue. Twice, I have left my iPhone on the dash of my truck when waking into work and it baked in the sun for several hours. When I went out to get it, it had shutdown on both occasions. When I turned it back on it said something like "Shutdown due to high temperature".

Does anyone know what the maximum temperature a phone can get to before the system will shutdown to protect it self?

It would be nice to find this spec if possible. 120, 140, 180 maybe?

How hot is too hot?

And what is this small issue ? Btw is there a way to extend the poll - i think it only last one day...

has a small rattle/buzz when it vibrates. If you take the battery cover off and make it vibrate you'll notice that the vibrating motor is right next to the charge port. It causes my charge port to rattle/buzz/humm whatever you want to call it.

overall though my phone is solid.

Is there a particular measurement app that you guys are using for chip temperatures?

I'd really like to quantify what "too hot" is... mine certainly approaches this territory, although I have not had any reboots because of it (or reboot loop issues).

Here's a good example... my son was playing a game in the car and it got mildly hot. When I slipped the phone in my pocket, I didn't realize that it was not locked and it had opened to the camera. About a half hour into our dinner, I noticed that my pocket felt like it was extremely hot!! I then realized the phone was still "on" in the camera app... I was surprised at how hot this left the unit.

Also playing any sort of game will leave the phone very hot as well (but that is to be somewhat expected I guess. Still, I worry about this sucker in the summer heat!

Mine got REALLY hot last night and this morning. I took it off of the charger, drove to the office, making one call on my way. When I got to the office, I put the phone on silent and in my pocket- my pocket was getting hot. I pulled the phone out of my pocket, and it appeared to be stuck on "1X", so I actually turned the power to the phone off. Surprisingly, it didn't cool off- it seemed to maintain it's temperature. I pulled it out of my pocket after I got out of the meeting I had to be in, tried to power it on, and it was completely dead. Even though I powered the phone off (verified it via the screens that show up when you power it off), something in the phone was still running, causing it to eat up everything in the battery.

I called VZW and they are sending me a "Certified Like New" Rezound... I wonder what problems it will have...

So far, not too happy with the Rezound- 1st one had a problem with the LCD screen (press the power button on top of phone to wake it up, and the screen would light up blueish/purplish (I have a pic to prove it), and took a couple of button presses to get it to go away), so it was replaced. Now i'm on the 2nd one, which gets so freaking hot...

I had it less than 24 hours and was doing the full charge/drain to help calibrate software/battery and after I plugged it back up to let it charge, it went into a boot loop and would not stop. Two battery pulls did not help. Only way to get it to stop was going into the boot menu (volume down + power button) and doing a factory reset. Kinda mad that in less than 24 hours it messed up on me. Hasn't done it again yet, but had the phone less than 3 days.

Edit: This was with no temp-root or anything. Completely stock, only addition being regular apps installed from the market. So sideloading or anything.

You should never let your phone die completely, my incredible, my girls evo, and this phone dont like it. Turn your phone off yourself at 5%. And NEVER try to start your phone again after it dies without charging it, I understand the wake button is also the power button but if it doesn't wake when you press it and the notification isn't blinking plug your phone in and give it a min before trying again. This will save you a lot of trouble and I imagine is the cause of half the reboot loop issues.
