Good day all,

I own a HTC DHD the last two weeks and I really enjoy the phone.
But as of yesterday, whenever I enable auto sync for HTC weather this error pops up: "com.htc.bgp has stopped unexpectedly"
Weather was set to auto schedule the last weeks and it worked perfectly.
I tried to do a hard reset, it didn't work.
Whenever I disable sync for weather, I don't get the error anymore. But that's not the solution, I bought HTC also for this cool widget!

Firmware version: 2.3.3, HTC Sense Version: 2.1

Could the update to the new firmware fix my problem?

Thanks you.

The new update might fix your issue.

I've had a look around and it seems to be an issue with a few HTC handsets and it appears as though clearing the cache and data associated with the weather and calendar app will sort.

Head to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Weather (anything with weather in it)/Calendar -> Clear Cache/Data.

Let me know if that sorts.

This started to happened to me also this morning on my HTC Desire

Android 2.3.3

I tried to clear cache and it didn't worked. After that I did a factory reset but the issue is still there. The message appears only when I try to update the weather manually or set on auto.

I thought my phone is broken but now I think it has to do with the Weather App since more people are getting this message in the last 24h.

Edit: my message says "com.htc.bgp" not "com.htv.bgp"

Sorry, typo. I edited and corrected to "com.htc.bgp"

So, it seems something happened last night and affected our HTC Weather app. Firmware download is now on 77%, I will let you know after I apply it.

I already flashed my HTC Desire with the latest firmware (or whatever is called) available on HTC Developer website. The message is still there.

Maybe you should wait a little bit and don't waste your time trying to flash yours also.

It worked for me after updating to 2.3.5, really strange you still get the error

Maybe it has to do with the fact that when I load widget named "HTC Weather", AccuWeather widget is loading. Is it the one loading for you too?

Did HTC changed that after the upgrade? New HTC Sense rocks by the way...

Hello everyone,

I have the Wildfire S A510e and I updated to the 2.3.5 version on Sunday. However i get the same error since Tuesday evening.Whenever I try to update the weather I get the com.htc.bgp.I believe there is sth wrong with the HTC servers since so many people have the same problem.

I tried everything i read on the Internet (except from Factory Reset) to fix it but nothing worked so far.I hope HTC solves this one fast...If anyone found a working solution it would be great to post it here!

Hello

I, too, experience the same problem. I've updated my HTC Wildfire S to Android 2.3.5 during the weekend, and I started getting the com.htc.bgp error since yesterday every time I try to update my weather widget.

Since there are more of us complaining about this problem, I think it's got something to do with HTC's servers. I really hope they'll release a fix soon.

I'll get back to you if I manage to fix it myself.
