Help Removing Synced Picasa Photos?

Got the Galaxy Nexus today. (Yay! :D)
However, when I added my Google account it synced my photos that are uploaded in Picasa. (I didn't activate the phone, so I forgot about this.) I don't want these on my phone. I unchecked the box that said to sync the photos, but they're still there.

Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I got rid of them on my Motorola Droid, but I have no idea how now.

Edit: PROBLEM SOLVED.
I first disabled the gallery, thanks to Ice Cream Sandwich. Cleared the gallery's data. Removed the Google account from my phone, then added it again, being sure to uncheck the "sync photos" box. Enabled the gallery. Picasa photos are gone!

Is your folders all black also for picasa in the gallery? I think o e or two of them show a main folder picture.

I was surprised that it loaded Picassa also, but it looks like everything google you have it loads which is pretty cool and saves time. Picking a certain folder in Picassa to sync would be cool, same thing with the iPhone but the nexus could do it wirelessly.

The uploading options to picassa and others is great also!

Settings > Accounts & Sync, go to your Google account, and uncheck "Sync Google Photos.

I know this because I used to have to manually turn it on :)

Edit: Oh, so unchecking that doesn't get rid of them? Nevermind then. :(

Nope. :( I don't know why it wouldn't remove them! I've tried that and clearing the data, since those are the two fixes I keep reading about for this problem. Just not working here. On my OG Droid I was able to select the albums and delete, but there isn't a delete option on the GNex.

Thank you though!

Same issue here. All my damn pics have synced to my phone even after google+'s initial setting being set to disable synced picasa photos.

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue, but hopefully it's resolved soon. Definitely don't want all this stuff popping up when I open the gallery! But I have Google+ set to disable photo sync as well. Still hasn't gotten rid of them. Oh well...

i was really annoyed by this, guys, so i had to get them off...
what i did was i removed my Google account. this removed the photos. i then re-added my Google account and was just quick enough to uncheck the syncing of the Picasa photos. i believe if you disable your data connection before hand that you don't have to be quick about it. but yes, you do need to remove your account to get rid of them.

I was thinking about doing this, but wasn't sure if it would impact the rest of the phone. I have two other Google accounts on the phone, so it's not like I'd be deleting all my Google info.

But the account I'd need to delete and add again is my main account that all my paid apps and everything are tied to. Will this delete those apps or anything if I remove the account briefly?

no, not that i could tell. all of my apps remained. and you do have to be quick about it. you can't add a google account without a data connection lol not sure what i was thinking there. it's still early for my brain i suppose :p

Haha! Thanks for letting me know! I really appreciate it! I will definitely try this and hopefully those pesky photos will be gone!

Edit: Unfortunately it didn't delete the photos. Ugh! Oh well, I guess.

it does. you may not have been quick enough. basically as soon as you add it back you have to immediately go to the account and uncheck the syncing of Photos. but it has to remove them when you remove your account. it gives you a warning about this iirc.

Hmm. I'll try again. I removed the account and immediately got a notification that a backup account was needed. I added the account again right away and it took me straight to a page to choose what to sync (books, browser, photos, contacts, etc.) And it automatically started downloading apps I had on my old phone, but deleted on this phone.

Thanks for your help!

I fixed it!

I followed mrvirginia's suggestion of deleting the Google account and then adding it again and quickly unchecking the box to sync photos. This didn't work the first time for me, but here's what did work...

Since Ice Cream Sandwich allows you to disable apps, I disabled the gallery, then cleared the data. I removed the Google account and added it again. I was sure to uncheck the "sync photos" box. Once the account was added, I enabled the gallery and sure enough, the photos were gone!

Hope this works for those of you trying to find a fix! Thanks again, mrvirginia!

I can confirm that mrvirginia's method works.

Go into Settings, Select Apps, Find Gallery, Select Gallery, Clear data, Disable Gallery.

Go back to accounts, delete your google account from the phone.
Add your google account back to the phone, go into the sync options and immediately uncheck "google photos".

Go back into settings > apps and scroll way down until you find Gallery. Select it and re-enable it.

You should be good to go.

BIG THANKS to mrvirginia for this one. I was getting quite annoyed.
