Um, was I supposed to install the Rom before installing teh softkey mod? I only did softkeymod and now I dont have the softkeys or noticification bar WTF???? help

Yes, you need to be on a deodexed ROM in order for most mods to work. So either mine, or ARHD so far.

I will clarify that in the post.

Also, I've included the fastboot images for the new radios and kernel, in case anyone didn't take the OTA and wants to flash the ROM, just fastboot flash those images, reboot into recovery, then flash the ROM.

[APP] Nova Launcher Beta (ICS based) - xda-developers

Built from ICS source only for ICS phones. Keeps all the stock look and funtionality while giving you many more options. Loving the extra screen real estate from removing the search bar and a 6x5 icon grid. :D

I just saw that on xda after I posted here. I had a feeling you may have been using it. Can you do me a favor since you're using Nova? Can you try to add a 1x1 icon using desktop visualizer to the dock? I tried on stock and it doesn't work :( Really want some custom icons in my dock

you don't even need to use desktop visualizer. just long press the app you want to change, click edit, click the current icon, click browse files, and select your new icon.

I know this is a really stupid question, but so this is taken straight from google's official vanilla release? I don't have to worry about carrier IQ or samsung bloatware or anything? Also, would it pay to download the official google vanilla version, flash it, back it up, and then download this one? Or would doing that remove the clockwork recovery? Also, if I just got the OTA 4.0.2, is there a chance that has carrier IQ?

Thanks a lot. I'm a total noob.

Edit: I want to add, I have CWM installed, try to flash this thread's ROM, but it doesn't work. It goes through the process for about 15 seconds before saying it is complete, but it doesn't really install. Any ideas?

No Nexus device has Carrier IQ, and there is no Samsung bloatware on this phone.

The stock firmware that came with your phone was Google's official vanilla release. If you have the Verizon version, it has two apps installed, but that's it. Same with the 4.0.2 update - it's Google's vanilla release.

Found a fix for the Facebook text bug:

1.)Flash back to your nandroid backup or stock rom.

2.)Copy the fonts from the /system/fonts folder of your stock rom (I used root explorer, navigate to the folder, tap settings softkey, multiselect, select all, copy).

3.)Paste them in a folder of your choosing on /sdcard/<new folder goes here> Note: For ease of finding them, I just named my new folder /sdcard/fonts stock/

4.)Boot into CWR and install the rom as described above.

5.)When everything boots up, go back into Root Explorer, copy the files from /sdcard/fonts stock, or whatever you named it, using the same procedure as in step 2.

6.)From Root Explorer, back out and go into /system/fonts/, mount R/W and paste the fonts here... It will ask if you want to replace the fonts just select yes.

Reboot your device normally, and you should now have text in your Facebook App...:D

This is a grueling long way to do it, but another dev shared with me the way to fix it easier, so I will have an updated ROM for you guys when I get back from my friend's wedding tonight.
