Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

My Thoughts of The Day - Nexus Related Of Course

[1] Im a Crack Flasher and I know it (Admittance is the toughest part)

Ive flashed and reflashed about 20 times since Ive owned the phone. I can honestly say that up until yesterday I flashed every rom available, and really no bad dealings with any of them.. Until I flashed Petes Newest Nightly for the LTE Gnex. Heres a little back story:
Peter Alfonso started back with a Droid 1 and has been a leader (with no doubt) in providing the fastest most stable roms, with the least bugs. (Hence his BuglessBeast line of Roms) He fully supports the D1, Incredible, NexusOne, NS & NS4G and Now both Gnex's. When I say bugless, i really mean it. You know the Gapps issues everyone has... His was fixed yesterday before anyone else even started. His roms is AOSP but comes pre-built with Gapps installed.
I HIGHLY recommend flashing his roms. If your not a Crack flasher and want 4.0.3 rooted, and very fast and stable download it.
Peteralfonso.com go to Downloads, and then Toro Nightlys

[2] Google Runs my Life

After reseting my phone for the 3rd time today ive come to the conclusion that Google runs my life. Heres how:
When I listen to music, im streaming through Google Music. I watch Videos on Youtube. My contacts and stored on G+. I video chat with my wife through GTalk. I email through Gmail. I stay up to date with my feeds with Greader and access my account with Google Currents. I can shop prices with the Shopper app, and my Voicemails come through Google Voice. My directions come from Google Maps and my Movies gets final edits in Google Movie Studio app. When I take a picture Google Goggles scans my photo and matchs items in the photo to google search... O I forgot... its being uploaded to Google+ at the same time. I browse the internet with my passwords and bookmarks synced from Chrome Browser are always available on the Nexus. Dont forget, I Chrome-to-Phone'd a download link i found on my laptop ;)
Google Really does rule my Life..

[3] 4.0.3 needs some support!

4.0.3 is my favorite google rendition to date. Its fast, stable and very very awesome lol. I'm enjoying working with it and seeing how really great it is.. but all good things have a bad side right? :-(
Well right now 4.0.3 has some major cons... like the HD Netflix app :-( no supporty. Grand Theft Auto 3 :-( no supporty. Sim city :-( no supporty. I'm hoping all those apps soon update cause it kinda sucks lol. But 4.0.3 is worth it in the long run. It is so much better then 4.0.2.

[4] I'm hoping to stay stable right now!

I've got my phone where I want it. I've got it stable, fast and pretty. I've got All my apps in nice folders and set aside and everything else is synced up. The app won't allow me to upload my screenshots and paste the links but the pics are at dsmphotos.com under Other and then Nexus. :)

I'm hoping not to flash anymore but tomorrow's my day off and who knows what will happen...

** To be completed on my phone in a few minutes ;)
Thanks Alt, I was a big fan of Pete's roms for my Droid 1 and I hated losing them for the D2. I can't wait to try his work again.

Its so worth it. The only thing not there yet is the wallet apk doesn't work. But I haven't tried the flash able version yet.

He even put all the sounds and notifications and the keyboard works just like stock. Not the way the other roms work

EDIT: Never mind, no one helped me and so I continued to let it sit at the bootloader screen until just a moment ago when I hit the power button. Fortunately that triggered a normal boot this time and it seems to be OK.

Please Help!!

I bought an extended battery tonight and put it into my phone about an hour ago. It went into the bootloader with the message "Downloading...Do not turn off target!!". Its been stuck like that ever since. Should I be worried? What should I do?

Damn you Alt, I needed to go to bed early tonight. I have a 530 spin class in the morning and I'm picking up a friend so I can't sleep in

Ah, what the hell, sleep is overrated.

Have fun with that:) I flashed a lot when I had my Eris. Just want stability for a while. In about a month I'll be a flashing machine, I'm sure.

Heh heh flashing machine...

Nothing beats stability, enjoy!

My Thoughts of The Day - Nexus Related Of Course

Thx for sharing your inner most crackFlashing thoughts I'm sure many here can relate. I go in phases, this is one of them. 12-20 toro zip I'll try. I've run a few Inc builds from Pete they were delightful

The y cord on the dock is too short

Is this the portrait dock? I saw a car dock tonight in-store for the GN....ewww  I would really like the landscape dock when it's available.

So you've tried th3ry's zygot 4.0.3 rom? ICS sounds and keyboard stock as well. I'm pretty sure kejar's 0.2.3 is as well.

Just a minor observation, when they changed my new number I ended up getting a new sim card and the nexus had to be reactivated I have noticed my signal indicator seems to have gained a little bit and my 4g speeds have gotten a bit faster. Could have been the area but before the sim swap and reactivation my speeds was less then 4000kbps

At home my bars are average about 2 but sometimes 3 or one which is a bit better ancient have not put the phone on the network extender yet. True this is 1x since my house is formed concrete and we can't even get get ota TV signals down stairs!

This could be a placebo effect and I haven't really looked into it or checked the call quality yet.

Sorry didn't see this...How long has it been stuck is it still stuck?

So you put the new battery in and turned it on by just pushing the power button by itself?

Phew! Bet that was scary glad it works :)

So did you power on the phone normally with just the power button after you installed the new ext battery and it went to that screen? Most often, a battery pull will solve it. Or, if you are tooted, you can push volume buttons down and up at the same time and while keeping them down push power button and hold all 3 till it vibrates (well this is true for some phones don't know about the GN yet). Is how you'd get into recovery from a dead state.

Hey jbdan,
Seems like you've tried lots of the roms so far. What has been your favorite rom/kernel/radio combination?

I'm undecided at the moment....because they have all been great!

If I had to choose one: probably be Roman's kanged akop build 8. It is the most feature filled and love what he is doing with all the tweaks and customizations.

I have not flashed any radio yet. No need to imo.

Zygot is tempting me tomorrow :D

looks like this pack was made for you!

[WALLPAPERS] Pure Black & Bright Colors [Update 20-12] - xda-developers

First, congrats on the promotion to Green!

Second, I actually just downloaded it last night but haven't had a chance to get them all on my phone yet to see how they look. There were a few in there I'd gotten elsewhere but they didn't work well. These look like better copies at least.

BB, why are you still stuck here? I never see you posting in the Nexus threads. There was even a guy who said he was leaving for a 4S!
Anyway, good to see all you kind folks still getting along. I finally unlocked/rooted yesterday with Paul's Superboot. Took the longest to root than any other Android I've had (why don't they just sell the Nexus' unlocked?). Got some help from the great Mods over there since my drivers were borked.
Have a great day all! :)
