XO Skins Installed with fit pics, Perfection!

I put on the XO screen protector yesterday and it doesn't affect the screen (as far as I can tell). I do feel a little more drag on my thumb, but I'll probably get used to it after a few days.

However, I'm really annoyed with the speaker cut out. It's too wide! Also, the protector is too short by about 2-3mm. How hard is it to make a product that fits exactly right?!

It makes my baby look like some cheap Android that I bought off the street.

It's wide because it allows the ambient light sensor and the proximity sensor to be unfettered by the screen protector plastic...

Got mine today... followed the directions... i think i did everything ok, drying now as i type this. small bubbles and clouding are normal while drying right? Those will go away? And if i completely mess this up, can i re-do it, or is it useless? thx.

i just put mine on a few minutes ago. i actually peeled it off and sprayed it down again and refit probably 4-5 times lol.

i was getting bubbles. seems like the key is spray both sides per the instructions and push out the bubbles wit the card while it's really wet.

now it looks great :)

Meh, I thought my installation went fine (followed all instructions/tips, squeegied all the bubbles) but when I woke up and checked out the screen after 9 hrs of drying I have large bubbles on my screen. I suppose I just did something wrong. According to the website, large bubbles after a couple of hours of drying time are set in and so I'll have to request a replacement.

I also thought the protector had a slight/subtle rubbery feel to it that would take some getting used to. If they send me a replacement, hopefully the installation will go better. If not, may go with boxwave.

They go away. I have had it take just over night, or a few days. Just depend son how many

It looks like I somehow ended up ordering the Case Fit screen protector as well. How bad is the gap at the bottom? Do you have a case on it with the screen protector? If so, does it at least hide the non-covered part?

it's about a 1/8 inch gap at the bottom with the xo skin. i have no clue why there's several posters on here (including the OP) claiming that it covers every edge of the screen. it doesn't. there's even a little on each of the side edges of the screen unprotected.

it still feels like a plastic screen protector.

my impression of it is it's less grainy than the invisishield, but the invisishield feels smoother to the touch, not as sticky. (yes, i cleaned off the adhesive)

i have the belt holster case from verizon with it, btw, and it does protect the entire screen. :)

So the version of the XO you purchased is the Case Fit as well?

they only sell one skin for the GN.

That's unfortunately not true. I learned today that I somehow ended up ordering the Case Fit version, which is trimmed back to allow for a case. I was really annoyed since I could have sworn I used the link at the top of this thread, which is to the full version.

Full Screen version: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector [Samsung Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector] - $13.46 : Screen Protector | Screen Protectors | Shield | XO Skins

Case Fit version: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector Case Fit [Samsung Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector Case Fit] - $13.46 : Screen Protector | Screen Protectors | Shield | XO Skins

I agree. The website does not make it clear at all unless you read the full description, which, when buying a screen protector, I'm sure most people don't do (particularly when the website uses such terrible colors for reading).

Do you have a case on yours? Either way, any chance you can throw up a quick picture of what the protector looks like on your phone?

When I searched the XO website for "Samsung Galaxy Nexus" the day after the Galaxy Nexus was released there was only one skin listed. The "Case Fit" skin was apparently not available then. I placed an order for the XO Skin via newegg.com. I also ordered the Seidio Surface case later that day from Seidio.

This past Friday at 4:00 PM I installed the XO skin. I followed the installation instructions plus I made use of the hot shower trick to reduce dust. Upon completion I was not very happy as there were maybe a dozen small air bubbles under the skin. I kept the squeegee moistened but I was not able to remove the bubbles. This was the first wet skin that I had installed. I was concerned.

The next morning at 8:00 AM (16 hours later) I picked up the phone and 2 or 3 of the bubbles had dissipated but the rest remained. Two of them looked like dust particles under the skin - at least they looked like dust particles looked on the Verizon screen protector on my OG Droid. I was still concerned even to the point of having resigned myself to a failed experiment. I was wrong!

By 2:00 PM, all the bubbles had completely disappeared - every one of them. The application was perfect. I was and now am completely delighted! I learned that time and patience is definitely needed with an XO Skin installation.

Next up: install the Seidio Surface case. Would it scrunch up the skin because the skin was not the "Case Fit" skin? No, it didn't lift it up at all, at least so far. The combo seems to work perfectly well together. I can't guarantee that with a week or two of use that an edge won't start to lift but I have hope. And if it does lift I will purchase the Case Fit version of the XO Skin.

I also observed that the day after I installed the skin that the XO Skin felt slightly tacky when my fingers touched it and slid across it compared to the feel of the dry Verizon screen shield on my OG Droid. But today, 2 days after installation, the feel is very slick, just like on my OG Droid. Again, time and patience was required. I am very pleased with this product.

unfortunately, i don't have a way to take a pic, but you want the full size one.

i sent an email to xo skins about it, and they are sending me the full size one free of charge. good service :)

they really need to change their website, i mean who's going to figure they have two sizes of screen protectors?:thinking:
