neither Here nor There
So all of the pre release info and the reports about the Honor have said the ffc was 2mp, but Crickets website says it is VGA. Anybody have any insight into this? Is Cricket cutting corners or was this just incorrect into from the start? Or could the Cricket website be wrong? Could someone who has the phone comment on the ffc picture quality? Not a huge deal for me, but I do find it interesting.

I have to say, it is disappointing that Cricket would cut corners like this. It makes me wonder if they changed anything else from the Honor to save money. Honestly, it's probably not a feature I'll be using that often, but to go from 2mp, which is the highest you usually see for ffc, to vga, which is the lowest, kind of takes some of the prestige and bragging rights away from the phone. I mean, how much more could it have cost to just leave the 2mp in there?

Coming from MetroPCS, Cricket & the Honor/Mercury interest me. Can I buy a Honor directly from Huawei and flash to Cricket? I suppose FFC isn't a huge deal but if I'm going to drop $300 on a Prepaid Android, I want it to be damn good and preferably with little bloatware.

EDIT: Huawei's website says it has a 0.3 MP FFC, so we can't blame Cricket.

EDIT #2: If the Honor gets Root, I'll buy.

Ahhh, I wanted the Honor for it's White-color. Oh well, 'tis what skins are for. I'm hoping Christmas is fruitful for this phobe, and maybe it can grab some attention.
I think Cricket missed an opportunity by getting this phone out so late. Some of the stores I talked to said they wouldn't even have it until next week (after Christmas obviously). I have a feeling the different colored back covers will be available online eventually. If like to get the textured flat black one. This shiny black is a fingerprint magnet.

Let me know if you guys spot and new back covers as well
the shiny black is scratch magnet.
This is what I want to get. The skin protector covers the whole back of the phone and this stuff is pretty indestructible. I'm hoping it might help cut down on the fingerprints too, but not sure. They also have the carbon fiber and wood design skins. Zagg makes the full body kits as well.

I want to get a hard anti-shock protector. Things seem to fall off tables for me... lol.

I'm assuming the phones are the same exact size, but on GSMArena they list the Mercury as 13mm and the Honor as 11mm thick. I'm not sure if this is correct or not. Otherwise I would say that any case for the Honor would fit the Mercury. Not sure how much of a difference it would make. 2mm is just about as thick as a quarter, a quarter dollar being 1.75mm according to Wikipedia.

Which is best Skinomi or Zagg?
I'm not sure which one is better, they both look pretty durable from the videos I've seen. The Zagg is supposed to have a slight orange peel texture which some people don't like, especially on the screen protector part. The orange peel might be better for the back as far as giving it a little better grip and not showing as many fingerprints, I don't know. I ordered the Skinomi one this morning, I'll let you know how I like it when I get it put on. Hopefully I can keep this thing from getting scratched up for a few more days till it gets here lol. It's also $5 less than the Zagg+ free shipping.
I watched that video from CU forum of the Zagg installation. That guy looked like he had a bear of a time with that thing lol.

Lol I saw that too.
Well today my phone fell screen first about 3 feet from the ground. Still in perfect condition, even took a razor to the screen and no scratches.

as I type im using the VGA on google talk. Pretty amazing!
I'm pretty sure this thing has Gorilla Glass. I don't know if I'll even use the screen protector part, I mainly want it for the back. Are you using the Zagg?

I think it is Gorilla Glass as well. I noticed some dots on the screen when i put it up to the lights and it was was the same thing that was on a Sensation I had. No, no protectors at all. :/

Razor to the screen with no protection? Well that convinces me even more that it does have GG. I know the Honor has it, so we should too unless that's another thing Cricket had removed. But I'm 99% sure we have it. I noticed those dots, too. Not sure what they are, I assumed they had something to do with touch detection. Anyway, it's good to know the Mercury can take a little punishment lol. :D
